[Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl] Shiny luck is not lucky

So even though i am newer to shiny hunting ive watched a few videos on how to do it in BDSP and im shiny hunting Larvitar at the moment, however its been 2 days, each day being 4 hoursish of actually hunting and my chain has not gone above 21 before breaking. Is this normal or is my game broken, or am i just that unlucky ;'(. anyway just a question i had trying to see if anyone has an idea.

forgot to mention i make sure i go to the 4th grass spot for the radar.

It is hard! I caught 23 in a row (93%) each time and my chain still broke.

I share your pain, I feel like my game is bugged. I've been breeding charmander for almost 2 wks nonstop, not one single Shiney I have half a box of amazing and great females... never Shiney though... and that's with matsuda
