I know that it's not too hard to get a normal shiny pokemon, but how the heck to you get a shiny starter? is it just super rare when you breed them? Or what?

i heard a rumour that in s/r as you open the bag to choose a pokemon you just click on them once to bring up its picture and keep doing it until its a shiny. im not sure if it work

    You have 2 options:

1.- Save before picking your starter and keep reseting 'til you get a shiny one.

2.-Breed eggs 'til you hatch a shiny.

If you want to show it off in a battle, I sugest to breed it to get the correct moveset and IVs; but if you're a collector, just reset 'til you set the shiny starter of your choice, but they usually don't have good nature or IVs.

you would have to be pretty lucky to come across a shiny legendary without gameshark
maybe if you save in front of a legendary you could keep battling it until you find shiny

I got Shiny cresselia, shiny shaymin, and a shiny bidoof, but that's its so far..

strangely enough i've only seen a jynx in silver 5 or so years back but when i introduced my friend to pokemon half a year back he caught a green golbat and a red linoone

same for me the only time i spend hours looking for the one pokemon is if theres nothing else to do or if me and my friends have a competition to see who can get that specific pokemon

i heard a rumor about having fire pokemon in your party while hatching eggs, its seems to work better too. Could speed up the process.

Yeah. A pokemon with magma armor I think speeds up the process by half :)
that was my hunch because i stuck with slugma and magcargo when breeding... and i keep both just in case it speeds it up more.
