you should get a ds so you could play with other people and stuff like that.

There are waaay more people cheating online than people think. Making battling with some people quite pointless...
 
The thread is going offtopic...

Shinies can be anywhere where a Pokémon's characteristics are not set (such as events). That includes starters. And eggs, too. It is now in the FAQ so this is not needed.
