Really? I thought I read his name in the credits for storyboard in some episodes of the anime. I'm not sure if he created the characters themselves, but Ash & Misty are supposed to be the anime versions of Red and Kasumi.

I'm using it as an example though. Just because a SHIP doesn't exist in canon or doesn't make sense to them, doesn't give the creator/writer the right to make fun of their fanbase.

If it was based on age, then yes Dawn would be too young for Ash, May slightly above, and Misty would be almost equal.

I'm a first time poster here, and I just felt like stating my general opinion on the popular ships. I could honestly see Pokeshipping or Pearlshipping being true. If I had to choose which I prefer, I'd have to say Pokeshipping (call me old school). I honestly can't see Advanceshipping being true for two reasons:

a. Unlike the other two, there have never been any big movie hints that May likes Ash.
b. I believe in Contestshipping, which I honestly consider to be one of the most obvious ships of all time.

For Pearlshipping, there was the part in "The Rise of Darkrai when Ash and Dawn were holding hands.

And for Pokeshipping, there are two things I can think of:
a. Check this video and watch Misty's reaction.

b. "The Power of One." Just the entire movie, as a whole. The simple argument over Misty's feelings for him was an entire subplot.

Anyway, I think this whole debate on which Ash SHIP is possible is ridiculous. I mean it is true that there have been instances where some of the female protaganists of each series has shown a liking for Ash, but it's all one sided if you come to think of it. Ash seems like the kind of perpetual kid hero that never grows up and I think NINTENDO is intending to keep him that way forever, because a lot of young boys see themselves as Ash and it'd be just be gross if Ash hooks up with any of the girls. (I mean, if I was a 10-year-old boy I'd think it was gross for me to do that)

I can probably see Brock or any of the other older teens and adults in the series hooking up with others because they ARE grown-up after all, but the tweens? I'd be really surprised if Ash suddenly became interested in girls. At the end of the series perhaps, that might be a posssibility. And even then, I'd say Pokshipping is the likeliest of all, because the entire first series was building towards that (remember it was originally slated for only 1 1/2 years before it got extended) and I would say the Ash/Misty's love hints are the most prevalent.

But I think the series could just get extended even more and Ash would meet yet another girl whose bike gets destroyed by him.

Regardless of age, it is still possible to develop crushes, although nonsexual, since the 3rd Grade or something. And Ash is like...5th in this society? Just because he just can't seem to get hit by the hormones doesn't mean he can't fall in love. Look at the girl Gissette or something from the first generation.

Also, I would not be so sure on Pokeshipping's prevailance since most hints are pure bullwaffles added from 4Kids.

That sucks we should expand this shipping debate to ALL ships in the Pokemon Fandom. Seriously it's not as if the Anime is the only one with the rabid fangirl shippers. >.>
