Well either way, the last posts seem to go about neither of the two XD;


So~ which shippings do I support in the anime? Not very much, I'm mostly ok with all of them (I certainly don't have an obsession with it like I have with some - or one, really - shippings in the manga). But, to list one of my favs:

• Cavalier (GaryxDawn, my favourite. Not many proof, ok, but I just like Gary and I think they look good together :D)
• Advanced / Pearl (Still tied between AshxMay or AshxDawn. I know it's never going to be cannon because of Contest and Penguin/Appeal/whatever - but it's cute. I've never supported Poke by the way, so that's why it isn't in the list. Even though it has much more hints.)
• Pallet (not in a really romantic way... but it's more like PreciousMetal: you can't deny the tension going on ;D I just like the interaction between them and I wish Gary would appear more in the show. -grumble-)
• Contest. Well, duh. Even though I like Advanced too.
• Coma. Come on. Just for crack. IT CAN'T BE DENIED! (Lol.) I certainly like it more than Ikari, at least. But we all know Shinji is made of ice, so...
• And minor shippings like AshxAngie, AshxAnabel, BrockxLucy, MaylenexReggie etc.

I have a couple of shippings I really don't like, but I won't list them. Not really fond of hurting people, and shippings tend to be a very sensitive topic, haha.

*pokes head into thread* I'm a Rocketshipper. Jessie and James together make me squee. xD I know a lot of people think James is too scared of Jessie, or she's too mean to him, or that they act like brother and sister but not imo. They seem to have a lot of touching/hugging/hand-holding scenes etc., that I love, and would never think of as brotherly-sisterly. O_o And even if Jessie is a little tough on James sometimes, you can tell they do both care about each other deeply. ^_^

As for the Ash pairings (I dunno, I'm not up on all of the names) I don't really care. If I could vote in the poll I'd probably say "No one, Ash only likes Pokemon". I don't watch a lot of the newer episodes, so I dunno about the new female characters but I know I never really shipped Ash and Misty together. I'd be more likely to ship Brock/Misty than Ash/Misty. Ash seems to only be interested in Pokemon, and doesn't very often show signs of liking girls. xD

AshxAnabel I find more appealing than AshxAngie. I think it's because of how calm Anabel and intelligent is compared to Angie, who can be loud, rash (almost like Misty). But not that I don't like her...

On to more important matters: I don't really think he goes better with guys than with girls. I like Pearl and Advanced just as I do Pallet and Coma. (Admittedly, the latter is more for fun than for serious xD)

But I think if you'd ask Ash this, he wouldn't know what to answer. He'd probably say something like 'huh love, what is that?'[/awkward face]. But I don't think he's especially hostile against shippings with him and a guy, because he isn't the macho type that would react all worked up if something gay-related is mentioned. It's probably more the fact that it is a shipping that scares him more than the actual person that it involves.

Oh, and by the way. I am a girl. I thought that was shown right in the corner?

Hm, yes, I was aware that a much of the shippings was made by the dubs. But still, not all of it, I reckon; that can't be. 4Kids made it probably more... cheesy.

Yeah, now they are more 'buddies' than 'rivals'. And Gary has changed into a perfect boy, with all the arrogance gone. But I still like him. And I wish he would appear more, dangit! >.< Once in a forty episodes really isn't enough.

I don't know what I'd choose if I had to pick between Pallet and Cavalier, though (in the hypothetical scenario that one of the two could become canon). Probably Cavalier. Because Ash having a love affair would be so... shocking that Pokemon wouldn't be Pokemon anymore. But Gary once a forty (grumble) episodes showing up to pay some attention to his (horribly neglected XD;) fling Dawn - well, that would be acceptable.

In fact, I want it to happen. Right now. They look really good together, don't you think? And not just because anyone would look good with Gary, lol. But I think they'd be a cute couple and Gary would be a pretty good boyfriend (the workload aside). I can definitely see him buying roses. <3

I've never translated hiragana and/or katakana into English, which is why I don't know. But those words in Romaji I have heard of, yes. Looks like I'm in the same spot as you are, looking at subbed episodes and learning that way *hint hint*.

? Well anyway, katakana is much simpler looking than hiragana, it's much easier to spot as words rather than symbols though. A lot of the phrases I know aren't much help though XD Yelling "_____ getto da ze!" at Japanese people randomly wouldn't be much help XD

- Pokeshipping *runs* Shut up. I know t's cliché, I know most of the hints came from bad dubbing...but I still think they look better together than Advanced/Pearl shipping. Still, I'm not completely against those either.

- Contestshipping - Does anybody NOT agree with this, to some extent?

- Rocketshipping - similar to Poke, I just think they fit together. Meowth is like the unconventional child.

On another note, this thread scares me in ways I've never been scared before :D

I think I agree with all of the above! Except the last point-- I'm not sure "scary" is the proper adjective that comes to mind for me haha.

Sorry Snoaz that you don't like Rocketshipping! I love it, it's my favorite ship and the only one I'd argue for, but it's not hard to understand why people wouldn't like it (especially in the recent episodes) so I'll just call it a difference of opinion.
