No, the advice given is mostly to fit the pokemon with the team and what it needs. And saying "no" to it is basically shooting it down, lol.
The standards are standard for a reason. Why do you think nobody uses Wall Weavile?
Also, there are a lot of different Pokemon used in standard play, many of which can fill multiple roles. When you see a Garchomp, you don't know its build. It could be a Scarf Chomp and outspeed your sweeper, or it could be a Chainchomp and destroy your wall. And what happens if someone uses a UU? It's mind games like these that make the metagame interesting. Frankly, you sound like someone who's never played a real battle against a skilled opponent.
Its more of a debate.
Also, if everyone uses the same team, it isn't boring. Plenty of strategies can made, skill isn't the same. It isn't the pokemon themselves that makes a team good.
This is what we mean. We aren't ganging up on you. We disagree. Plus, as the thread implies, you have given no real fact to back up your arguements. Besides, this was a message to the noobs, not a debate, your partially right.
whatever man, i just think that the game is starting to get boring because allmost everyone is using the same pokemon all the time, i mean there are allmost 500 of them, surely there are other pokemon and other movesets/nature ect that you can suggest for people along with the standards so that we can get a bit more variaty around here.
Now we lost sight of the thread. It isn't "I hate standards". Its noobs shooting down advice, with no real reason. You don't rate enough teams to know how that feels. Its annoying. If they won't consider advice, don't make a thread. Or have some reasoning behind it.
well (this is just a suggestion) give them more options than just the standard, i do understand what you mean by them shooting down your advice for no reason must suck.
No. We give what works. As airconditioning said, you probably haven't faced real opponents, or else you wouldn't have this attitude.
Skill does come into it... I mean consider the following, 2 players using SkarmBlissDol (Skarmory, Blissey, Claydol) combo to wall an opponents Electivire
1st Player sees Electivire and switches to Skarmory
Electivire uses Thunderbolt, Skarmory dies
2nd Player sees Electivire, contemplates Skarmory, remembers most Electivires carry Thunderbolt, and switches to Claydol
Electivire uses Thunderbolt, Claydol is immune
Even if everyone used the same pokemon, with the same movesets... The battles would still be totally intense and based off prediction and skill.
i try to battle as much as i can when i have time, but i also have a life outside pokemon and im not going to give that up to play more pokemon(well maybe when PBR comes out in the uk for now im stuck with netbattle and Diamond), and i know you say you give what works and i understand that, it just that there only seem to be about 6 pokemon that "work"
