I've never minded it actually, the plot is essentially the same, but in a way it's still fun.

The only thing I'd like to see change is when Team Rocket would get the idea that they shouldn't try to steal pokemon anymore, and just move on. You'd think from blasting off so often, they'd have figured that they suck basically.

Good point.. I'd actually like to see TR replace Dawn and Brock as Ash traveling companions. I mean they've been in every single episode so far they're almost kind of like "main staple characters" apart from Ash the main protagonist. And they've switched over to the good side far too many times to count. Besides it be funnier to see how Ash interacts with them on a daily basis.

I'd like to see them catch Pikachu for once, realize they actually the exp of chasing it thereby adventuring through different regions more than anything else, then threaten Ash to let them join him or he'll never see Pikachu again. Ha! I think I can come up with better plots than the whole script writer team on Pokemon put together..

I'm sick of ash cuz he started out as a trainer when he was 10 so did he went to school i think not considering some episode showing ash as stupid comedy relief and i'm sick of pikachu and brock too!!! they should do a new series with a new hero new starter or just turn the manga into anime is that so hard to do?

You know I posted here a long time back, but I have some new things to back up my previous statement. I don't think Ash has gotten old, I believe his new tactics are just kicking in. Before, Ash would be a little naive, but he was a beginner, but now he's growing and the writers are showing that more and more. He has been using new techniques in the latest DPPt shows and I believe that the inclusion of Paul has made him much different as well (in a way). So no, I am not sick of Ash Ketchum, just looking to see more in the future :)

Well, changing the main character changes the entie show. But for me, I would actually like to see a new character. Brendan I think would make a good character/rival or make some new pokemon chronicles episode on some of the video game characters, ie Wally, Brendan, Lucas, etc. But that can also be bad to completely change the main character. It may lose alot of its appeal. For example, I watched all of the yu-gi-oh series when I was younger, but when it went to the GX series, I totally stopped watching, and may have been a factor in me not watching. That is kinda my opinion.

Dude, this is Pokecommunity.com's anime section. If you don't hate and want to kill Ash and Pikachu and want to add sex and gore and shipping into the show, then you just DON'T GET IT!!!111!!11!!11!

(Kidding. Like you, I'm enjoying the anime a lot nowadays)

Well, let's see, the events of the episode implied that Jessie and James met when they first joined Team Rocket, despite it being implied that Jessie and James were students together(School of Hard Knocks), Legendary Bikers in the same bike gang (The Bridge Bike Gang), and a few other episodes stating that they've known each other since they were kids. It also contradicted the notion that Meowth preceeded Persian as Giovanni's "Top Cat" (It was implied in "Battle aboard the St. Anne" that Persian "replaced" Meowth as being the Top Cat because of the TRio's failures, AND the subject was brought back up (either explicitly [such as in the dub], or just subtly implied [such as the Japanese raw]) in Bye, Bye Butterfree.).

Wait, so everything is implied but never stated as an actual fact?

I like Ash, but I'm sick of many things.

  • Pikachu. They need to find a good reason to get him to leave the show. Make it a sad episode like when Butterfree left.
  • Pidgeot needs to return. It FINALLY evolves and he allows it to stay behind and protect the pidgey and pigeotto's from a Fearow.
  • Team Rocket needs to be cut out and/or changed completely. As the show went along, they only had one blast off, now they average two or three per episode. The writers probably thought this was a witty thing to do, but it's ridiculously boring and I hate every second of it. Cut them out, or give them GOOD Pokemon. Screw this Carnivine/Seviper crap. Give James his Growlie. That would be a hell of a start.
  • Ash's Pokemon team needs to get beefed up. You're not going to win ANYTHING with a boring Buizel. I want his older Pokemon to make extended appearances. Charizard. HERACROSS. Kingler. Tauros. You get the idea.
  • and finally, once Pikachu is replaced, Ash needs to capture or acquire a Riolu. I LOVE how Ash has some amazing aura in him, and how he gets along tremundously well with Riolu and Lucario. I think he needs to make his signature Pokemon Riolu, then eventually evolve it into Lucario. This would give the show a breath of fresh air, and keep it very exciting. He would also have a legitimate Pokemon for the Elite Four.

I think they should make an Anime based completely on Pokemon Special.

Well I hate ash from the start of the 6th season when he became more serious and I hate other things in pokemon too like...

Pikachu, C'mon all 150 pokemon from the kanto region he get stuck with pikachu Ash should have started with a charmander a Machop or Maybe Even a Pidgey.

Another thing Brock is really weird cuz he looks like this >,< and the way he flirts we most girls they meet that's crazy specially the way he can tell the joys and jennys apart.

And Team Rocket always loose what's that about they should really give team rocket a fighting chance and stop ash from always winning and team rocket should have Fully evolved pokemon

And They should make an episode where team rocket stole pikachu and pikachu never return and ash took his snorlax,Charizard,Kingler,Heracross, tauros and Pidgeot back to take revenge on team rocket cuz it's a good excuse for pikachu to never return

Please explain why getting rid of the official mascot of Pokemon, the most popular and most widely recognized Pokemon would be a GOOD thing for the anime.

Pidgeot needs to return. It FINALLY evolves and he allows it to stay behind and protect the pidgey and pigeotto's from a Fearow.

Sorry, you're stuck in the past. It's been 10 years and there's been no indication that Pidgeot's mission of protecting the flock is done. Why have it come back when it has no relevance to the anime?

Ash's Pokemon team needs to get beefed up. You're not going to win ANYTHING with a boring Buizel. I want his older Pokemon to make extended appearances. Charizard. HERACROSS. Kingler. Tauros. You get the idea.

why use Pokemon (that honestly, besides Charizard, aren't all that great) that have nothing to do with the current region?

As Battle Frontier showed us, we'll see the old Pokemon again whenever they need to do a filler journey. But there's no reason they need to make extended appearances.

I think they should make an Anime based completely on Pokemon Special.

Why do that when people can just go read Special? Why do people want to turn the anime into their own personal fan fic? Let Pokemon Special be Pokemon Special, and let the anime be the anime.

I've posted waaay back in this, but I think the anime should be the same as it has been. Ash has always been a popular staple and I think it's best if it conunues this way. At least for a few more seasons or so.

If Pokemon Special can get rid of the franchise's official mascot on a whim early in the manga, and not have it or any of it's evolutionary line appear in the possession of Ruby/Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, or Platina Berlitz without them losing a significant amount of revinue, they can CERTAINLY do the same in Pokemon.

Brock barely has any relevance to the anime, should he be left behind as well? The Orange Islands proved that his cooking skills aren't needed.

why use Pokemon (that honestly, besides Charizard, aren't all that great) that have nothing to do with the current region?

Less than half of Team Rocket's pokemon barely have anything to do with Sinnoh, either (By that, I mean Meowth, Seviper, and Wobbuffet), should we ditch them in a dirt road and have them catch Gen IV pokemon only? I mean, seeing how you think that those that have nothing to do with a saga just need to be left behind, Team Rocket should have ditched their pokemon a long time ago.

As Battle Frontier showed us, we'll see the old Pokemon again whenever they need to do a filler journey. But there's no reason they need to make extended appearances.

Even if there wasn't a need to have extended appearances, they would at least give them flashbacks or cameos.

Why do that when people can just go read Special? Why do people want to turn the anime into their own personal fan fic? Let Pokemon Special be Pokemon Special, and let the anime be the anime.

Just for the record, I DON'T seek to turn it into my own personal fanfic. I only wanted to change the show for the betterment of people. Besides, several Animes have been adapted from Mangas (Dragon Ball/DBZ, Love Hina, Battle Vixens (kinda), Naruto, Bleach, all of those things. Did you really think they just started as animes? No, they created them from a source material. That Source Material being the original Mangas.).

The anime and the manga aren't the same. As I'm sure you know, the manga follows different characters for different stories. The anime, however, from day one has had Ash and his Pikachu as the central focus.

This is ignoring that the way the manga and the anime are made and marketed are drastically different. Manga is not nearly as easily accessible as the anime. The anime airs in many countries. Manga, at best, gets a small section in major book stores, and most manga is confined to specialty retailors. Some of the Pokemon manga series haven't even made it outside of Japan.

So no, what happens in the manga doesn't automatically translate into something the anime can do well or be beneficial for it, and the same goes for the reverse.

If you want to start a Brock thread, go for it. But if you don't want to discuss the point I responded to, then don't bother replying to it.

Team Rocket aren't the central focus of the show. They don't necessarily need current Pokemon to fulfill their roles (though I think it's better when they do)

I'm assuming that, since you post here, you've watched the anime before. I don't think I need to explain to you why Pokemon like TR's Mewoth and Wobbuffet and Ash's Pikachu are relevant to the plot despite not being current regional Pokemon.

I mean, seeing how you think that those that have nothing to do with a saga just need to be left behind,
Also, don't put words in my mouth.

Even if there wasn't a need to have extended appearances, they would at least give them flashbacks or cameos.
They have. Butterfree, for example, has had TWO flashbacks during D/P.

That's nice. But the source material for the Pokemon anime are the games. And as I've explained before, the manga and the anime of Pokemon are drastically different in terms of storyline, how they're marketed, and the availability for purchase.

Eh...I'm getting into the firefight here but yes the Pokemon Special manga doesn't get the recognition it deserves in the fandom in general. Do you know how much of a fringe minority knows of the PokeSpe manga! It takes you the will to check out the unused section of a Pokemon forum or website to even find out about it! Tsk... the fact that you can get infracted for linking to a site that allows you to view it (Yeah like everyone can import the Viz or the Chuang-Yi translations. >.>) just worsen the "Popularity" portion for it in the Pokemon Fandom.

Yeas the source material is the games...but what we propose is the creation of a Pokemon Special anime. I'm not saying that the current anime should be canceled at all (I'm still partial to the movies. =|)...Just a parallel track of an alternative anime for the older fans. ^_^

See how Nintendo's bottom line will be made better by getting more Pokemon fans in. =P

Anyways as for the current anime plot. I'm admitting that things are getting better. The hand-wash plots are somewhat being thrown off, etc. But they can certainly do better. :)

I think the newgrounds skit of the SSMB sums up my thoughts on the little boy.

Big death thing: Attention all, I am taking over the world, this isn't a big thing, honest.
Ash: GO CHARIZARD I CHOOSE YOU
Lucario: OH GOD! I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WORSE!

Note, I couldn't remember it exactly! XD
So some of it might be wrong!
The basic idea is there though...

I say make a new series all together. I'm personally sick of the same old routine they keep feeding us.

Ash loses against a gym leader. Win a few. Loses. Wins the last badge. Gets into the Pokemon league. Gets defeated and goes to another region to get stronger. Meets a new female character who happens to be a coordinator, repeat. Not to mention the fact that he's stopped with the whole "Gotta Catch 'em all" thing. Once he gets six Pokemon, he just stops. It's annoying. Not to mention he NEVER tries to catch any of the legendaries.

lol I agree with everything writen on top esspecially the blue. What I disagree with is the legendary part they are sacred in that world not as much as the game but still.

Once they changed the voice, I was so pissed. I quit the show. Period. I rarely watch it,except for the Johto Season. I started watching Sesame Street to get my mind off the voice change for god's sake, but in the end, it was hopeless(Sesame Street is gangsta, though.)

Yeah. Cause it's manga, which doesn't have the mainstream appeal (or availability) of an animated series or a video game. It is not because of the supposed maturity of any of the Pokemon manga.

And yes, PC doesn't want to be associated with those who are stealing copyrighted work. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Yeas the source material is the games...but what we propose is the creation of a Pokemon Special anime.
Which is redundant. If someone wants to enjoy something in the spirit of Pokemon Special, they can *gasp* go read the Pokemon Special manga series.

Aren't I a genius?

Just a parallel track of an alternative anime for the older fans. ^_^
Older fans are a vast minority. I'm much older than...well, most of you, and I enjoy Pokemon, anime, manga, games, for what it is. I don't see why others can't.

InTraining Daze Jessie and James never explicitly state that this was the first time they met each other on the roof top. Only the Rocket supervisor/trainee supervisor assumed that they were strangers, and took the necessary step to introduce the 2 potential partners. (I mean wouldn't you if you were the instructor, since 80% of the time your trainees wouldn't have known each other beforehand)

And why should J&J tell the instructor "o we've met!" since it's none of his business if he knew anyways? Something probably happened between them in the timeline between Bridge Bike Gang and Training Daze that probably explains the animosity and probably why they didn't acknowledge each other.

Also, according to my impression, Meowth never really was "top cat" in the first place. Meowth was the only one who ever said he was "top cat", no one else did ever agree with him and was probably deluded from the time he joined the TR organization that he was the Boss' favourite.

J & J did act as if they really did not know each other. As well as they did not show any signs of already knowing each other before this.
