2nd Gen Silver...who, what, when, and where?!?!

    Okay, I'm sure most of you know who Silver is. There's a topic on this page that's about him. But for those of you who don't know, he's your rival in GSC.

    Anyway, I'm not sure about a few things concerning him, so could you please answer these questions? Thanks!:
    3. Does it ever say why he hates the weak/Team Rocket?

    Anyway, thanks. Also, please post here with any information that you know about him!

    There's a slight hint in FireRed that Silver is Giovanni's son.
    There's a Rocket scientist that says that Giovanni's son is a boy with red hair. =/

    Unfortunately, I don't know more about him.

    But if that is true (he being Giovanni's son), you can start philosophying about why he would hate Team Rocket... Because he hates his father for abondoning Team Rocket? Or because Team Rocket is nothing without his father? And so on.

    Oh! Silver is the son of Giovanni? Wow! I never knew that!

    Anyway, do you know where either Silver or Givonni lived/grew up at? And does it ever say who Giovanni's wife is? (I doubt it...)

    Wasn't that talking about the Manga? Because the Manga isn't 100% accurate. It isn't cannon.

    Actually, it is. It's just a different sort of canon. It's licensed merchandise for the most part, which means it's not just some fan manga floating around because someone felt like writing a manga version of the games. That is, the writer and artists actually had permission to use Nintendo-copyrighted characters for the sake of a story. Otherwise, you'd see Nintendo come down hard because Special would therefore be a fairly popular copyright infringement.

    However, manga canon (any of them -- and there isn't just one) =/= game canon. Special tries its best to respect the canon of the games (because that's what it's based on), but it takes some liberties.

    That said, while Silver being Giovanni's son is canon in the manga, it's never explicitly stated in the games. Not even for the Japanese versions.
     
    Okay, not to be spamming, but doesn't anyone know where Silver grew up/was born at? Aren't there any slight hints in the anime or anything else?

    According to Yellow saga of Pokemon Special, Giovanni was born in Viridian City (which makes sense since he's the gym leader there). In FR/LG saga, Silver is revealed to be Giovanni's son, so he might have been born there, or at least raised there, because of his Sneasel's memories.
     
    Yeah. in Special, it says that Silver WAS actually raised in Viridian. (Well, until Ho-oh took him away to Neo Team Rocket) Nobody knows his mom or if he was actually BORN in Viridian.

    Sadly, there are no hints in the anime because Silver never appeared, except for a cameo somewhere in The Legend of Thunder, I think in the opening song or something.

    its the "evil" group in the special manga
    It was form when giovanni disbanded the team rocket.
    The new leader was called the mask of ice.
     
    Here's a toss-up. In the anime, "Paul" acts as kind of a guy who hates weak people and treats his Pokemon badly. He's supposed to be the anime embodiment of Silver, right?

    Yeah, he founded "Giovanni's witnesses".
    If you're ever home on a weekday and hear a knock at your door, it could be him.
    Don't accept the flyer.
     
    I wonder if the Viridian City Gym was actually his house? He could have had a underground room, like in the Celadon Game Corner, and the all the other bases....

    Just an idea, though.
     
    Most likely..although the Pokemon games have a funny way of having alot of homeless people. Ever notice the house to person ratio? XD
