Simple Q&A Thread

Blissey can usually survive one Seed Flare and pose an immediate thread with Thunder Wave or Ice Beam. Scarftran is a better counter overall with it's double resistance to it's main stab.
But isn't Scarftran pretty screwed if it switches into an Earth Power...?

But a counter's a Poke that can come in with little risk and force the Pokemon inside out.

If there's a real risk that it'll get OHKO'd, then Scarftran isn't really a counter; he's more of a revenge killer.

Fabian said it. Counters =/= Prediction. Counters are Pokemon that can switch in safely into another Pokemon with little to no risk. This is why Garchomp had no counters. I mean, if Counters relate to Prediction, then Garchomp would have tons of counters. If you predict an Earthquake, and a Flying Pokemon can switch in (counter?).

Prediction is still a key element in competitive battling. But what matters here is the fact that Skymin has counters or not. So take prediction out of this subject.

Skymin still has no counters.

Ok... Some Questions about EV-Training:
1. A Pokemon Like Graveler gives 2 EV's, do i just have to Defeat 2 of them to get an EV then, or do i need the usual 4, but get 2 points?
2. If i defeat an Aron, then go up some levels on Zubats, then defeat 3 more Arons, would i get the Aron-ev still?
3. If my Pokemon go up a level after the 3rd Pokeon i defeat, and then i defeat one more, would i still get that EV on the next level?
4. If a Ditto Transforms, would i get Ditto's EV's or the Pokemon it Transform-ed into's EV's?

1. If you were to defeat one Graveler, you would get 2 EV points.
2. As for Aron and Zubat, you harvest both of their EVs.
3. You get all 4 of the Poke's EVs, if what I'm thinking of is what you're indeed asking.
4. I'm pretty confident you would get Ditto's EVs, but not sure about this, sorry.

If you still don't get 1 then...

Let's say you need 1 extra defence EV point, so if you killed 2 Gravallers then you would get....

Gravaler 2
+ Gravaler 2
____________
EVs 4

1 extra point.

Hold up..i has a good question....cant a weavile with a focus sash switch in on a garchomps attack and safley ko it with ice punch next turn? isnt that techniqley a counter?

You can't rely on focus sash Weavile because of Stealth Rocks, Toxic Spikes, Spikes, and Sandstorm.
Also if Garchomp is holding Yache Berry, which it usually is, It won't be getting more then 60% off of Garchomp.

And if Garchomp decides to switch, your left at 1% HP meaning anything will kill you and Garchomp is still a problem, and I do know that forcing a Pokemon to switch is also counted as a counter but in this case I do not see it fit.

Not sure if you saw this, since I just edited it in.

Garchomp is weak to Garchomp >_<
Which doesn't really make it a counter =P

Entry hazards are a let-down for Focus Sash users. Stealth Rocks, Spikes, etc completely destroy it. If Garchomp is holding a Yache Berry (which it usually does), Weavile won't be getting more than 60% onto Garchomp. Weavile can't OHKO a full-HP YacheChomp with Ice Punch without a Choice Band.

Okay, here's a stupid one:

What is the MOST overused pokemon? What is the second, third, etc?

They would probably be among Shaymin-s, Scizor, Suicune, Zapdos, and Salamence. They're arguably the most commonly seen Pokemon nowadays.

Two questions: Is it possible to OHKO a gyarados with a stone edge from a focus sashed Dugtrio?

and when you need a RMT thread approved, do you have to ask the mod?(sorta new in this part of the community)
