I have done a LOT since I last posted.

I decided to challenge the E4 with low-level Pokemon (highest was 53) and I got beat by Bertha. I challenged again and did one better this time, getting beaten by Lucian

The highest Pokemon in my party was now Level 55. I went in for a third time, and my Infernape killed Aaron's team. Bertha was harder, but Gyarados and Lucario did most of the damage. Flint was easier, but still hard with Gyarados and Graveler doing most of it. Lucian was a b***h again with her damn Bronzong and Alakazam. I managed to beat her when I revived Luxray at the last minute when all my othe Pokemon had fainted.

It was now time for me to face Cynthia. I had no chance in hell, I thought. I revived all my party and healed them to full HP. As she started with Spiritomb I knew that it had no weaknesses, so I started out with Gyarados, and about 5 minutes and 4/5 hyper potions later, Spiritomb was down. Next out comes Gastrodon which was hard to take down but I managed to do it with Grass knot from Infernape and then Dialga's Roar of Time. Out comes Garchomp. 2 Earthquakes and Dialga was gone. Same wth Lucario. Garchomp still had 2/3 of its HP left and i send out Gyarados. Somehow i got it down to red with ice fang but then Cynthia used a Full Restore. This continued for a few minutes until i finally took the beast down (also thanks to my last Ether).

So now it's Roserade, Milotic and Lucario aganst Infernape, Luxray, Graveler and Gyarados. Out goes Milotic against my Gyarados - Gyarados gets owned and makes it 3 vs 3. i send out Luxray who kills Milotic with Thunder. 2 vs 3. Out goes Lucario who destroys me with Earthquake or Close Combat (one of them) 2 vs 2. I decide against saving infernape and send out Graveler. Bad move as Graveler goes down easily. 1 vs 2. Fortunately Lucario was on orange HP and Infernape destroyed it with a Flamethrower. it's now Roserade vs. Infernape, 4 Flamethrowers later and I HAD WON!!! I couldn't belIeve it.

I was browsing the GTS today, looking for random pokemon, ect, so i decided to look for a kingdra, so i found this lv 66 male legit shiny kingdra, and he was asking for a bidoof lv 9 and under, so i went trade, and found that i had no bidoof's, so i quickly went out of the gts, caught a bidoof, lv 4, and went back in, to the gts, found that he was still in there, and traded, so i know have a shiny kingdra, and it only cost me a bidoof
 
Quickest Shiny Ever!

Wow. I've been trying to get a shiny tauros for about three days now, but when I get my chain to about 10, a Staravia or a Bibarel appears ¬_¬ So I went to the valley windoworks this morning to get a shiny Mareep or Buizel. So I use the pokeradar, and go into one of the patches, and a Shellos appears. I decide to defeat it and try and get a shiny Shellos instead. So once I've defeated it, I look at my touch screen which states that I have a chain of one Shellos, I go into one of the patches that rumbled normally, and Whalla, a shiny Shellos! This is the quickest shiny I have ever got, and I just wondered if anybody else has had this luck before?
 
Supposedly it cuts the rate in half or something each time you chain a Pokemon of the same species.
 
Lucky! I've been trying to chain for shinies for days and still found nothing, heh.
 
define 'chaining' then.
Do you have to catch the pokemon? Or do you have to just encounter it?

both


1.use poke radar

2.grass rustles

3.catch or beat pokemon

4.then the grass rustles again atomaticaly

5.i suggest getting some repel and the poketech app from prof.oak
 
Chaining happens with the key item pokeradar, which you don't get until after National dex/pokemon league. When you use it, it locates pokemon in the grass(patches shake) when you encounter a pokemon and defeat it, a chain starts. The radar makes it easier to encounter the same pokemon, and you can start chaining by defeating more of the same kind. IIRC, the chain breaks if another kind of pokemon appears, you encounter a pokemon that wasn't seen while using the radar(use repels!) or you catch/run from the pokemon you encounter.

This way, you can encounter rare pokemon that normally don't appear in the route, or shinies. There's also a poketch app for keeping track of the number of pokemon chained.

That's a long post. I hope I got everything right. :O

I got it to work, wrote a I guide on it, I have nearly 50 Pokeradar Shinies, and infact I'm working on chaining Spoink now.
 
Today, I started out by EV training one of my Pokemon, I was "EV chaining" in hopes that if I fainted enough Pokemon, I could get a shiny patch to come up, Well it didn't quite work out well, the best I got up to was a 20 something Shinx chain, then I remembered my Swarm is Spoink, so I went to chain, got to 65 and on the 2nd shiny patch (64) I placed my level 4 ralts at the front, to synchronize, caught it and forgot I put Ralts there, so my chain broke XD...

I hope to chain some other things to get my revenge from not getting any shiny Patches, I've got my eyes on you Buneary, Shinx, and Oddish... =P
 
Caught Giratina today, woot! Took me about 20 minutes and about 30-40 balls. Gyarados was a big help

I also leveled up my party a bit and beat the Elite 4 for the second time
 
I got 3 Shinys and 2 events off the GTS in the past few weeks. I also almost have a box full of Shinys!
 
I finally beat the beauty Master rank Competition, i've been trying to win it for ages, i beat it with my milotic
