Hey, I was at my cartooning class today and I sketched up a nice picture of Liza. Then I scanned it (yes, it's HANDRAWN work from Crystal Clair)
So how did it come out? I need some critiques or whatever cuz I'm gonna redo it on PaintShop pro because I now hate Photoshop.
Edit: I made it a picture despite what I said. Sorry, it didn't work out as a link.

    Hope this works
(sorry, I'm a tad distracted, my sister is fooling around with her digital camera and let's just say now you know why I dont post my picture on the thread even though my sprite is close enough)

she looks pretty good, especially good cuz its a hand drawing and shes got a very familiar outfit on i think ive seen someone else from another anime wear that,XD but yes very good only problem i can see is her head seems a bit skinny other than that i say it rocks itll look great when redone in paintshop

Number one, please cut it with the stupid modesty. I hate it when people say "I suck, but I tried," or "I know its bad," or, by far the worst, "it's so terrible, but I hope you all like it."

If you think it's that bad, then don't post it. Bah.

Besides which, it's good, but I get the feeling that the skateboards angle is wrong. Maybe it's just me, but hey, that's my input. I'm not a fan of the pokemon style myself, but your drawing seems to match up to it well enough.

It's awesome! I wish I could sketch like that, I wish it were colored XDD

Actually JuJu, that outfit's really my default anime schoolgirl outfit. I gues I have been watching and reading too much Inuyasha lately *looks at newly bought poster* yup!

Where did I post the modest crap? I dont do that "stupid modesty" at least I dont think I do.

Yeah I thought so too but my art teacher and my sister's boyfriend who skateboards thinks it's "very good!"

Well, I love Pokemon's art style better than any other anime. I like simpler better than complex usually but sometimes I like to see my true ability.
    I wish it were colored
Dont worry, I'll eventually get around to the coloring part once I finish the pen art. But my laptop is slow because my dad didn't get around to giving me the memory and the picture's really gigantic and I didn't resize it yet.
Hope my lappie speeds up for me.

Heh, my bad. Without any indication like a speech bubble, I thought the 'I suck, don't I" caption was your personal commentary on the picture. Yeah. Sorry. You might wanna add in a line connection or a text box around that.

CC: Ha! Liza's saying that about her skateboarding. XD But you figured that out already so I'll shut up right now.
    Clair: Done like dinner!
    *whack*
    Clair: Yana kanjii.....

Whoa! I barely got the lineart done, have an AAML pic planned and I get another request. I'm becoming like one of those super-members who do everything that the people want.
I cant promise that I'll do it but I sure hope I can at least add one more piece of lineart onto her cuz my pc's so darn sloowwww!
And if you call me a nub, do notice that I recently passed the post count of 1000 and have been a member since March.

well, the present day skateboard is composed of the deck and trucks.

The deck is made out of high quality plywood, with a nose, a tail, and the middle. the nose and tail are curved upwards, so to allow tricks to be performed by bouncing the nose/tail on the ground, causing the board to go up into the air. The top surface of the deck, where the feet are placed, is covered by a sand paper griptape, attactched with an adhesive, this allowes the shoes to grip, and not slide off. There are threads near the base of the tail, and the base of the nose, for the trucks to attatch to the deck.
decks range from the low quality "wal mart board" at 20$ to the signed pro decks for hundeds of dollars. The average deck (what i use) is 60 to 80$.

The trucks are made of aluminum or steel, or some other metal, and are the "axles" that the wheels to attatch to. They are composed of 5 parts. the base, the axel, the bushings, the wheels, and the bearings. the bushings can be soft, medium, or hard, they determine how much the board is allowed to pivot side to side, wich causes the board in motion to turn, by leaning left or right, they are basically coushins that are between the base and axel.
The wheels are made of hardened stuff or some kind of polymer, im not exactly sure, they are extremely tough, and will not break easily, the harder the better. The bearings are usually sealed, with many little rollers, they go inside the wheels, and allow for the wheels to spin with minimum friction. when i spin mine and let go, they can keep spinning for about 30 seconds or more. (Cheap "wal mart boards" dont do this, they hardly spin at all.)

that basically summs it up for you... i might draw sum sk8 pics in the near future.
