    This is for emerald, not D/P. Here is a Slaking I'm planning on using:

    Slaking@Choice Band
    Jolly/Adamant Nature
    EVs: ?, you'll soon find out why
    ~Hyper Beam
    ~Shadow Ball
    ~HP Physical
    ~Flamethrower/fire blast

    Here's why flamethrower is there. I'd switch in on blissey or the special wall. They'd switch to skarmory/forretress/steelix and they wouldn't be expecting to get hammered by fire blast. Is this set more of a novelty, or could it work?
     
    When I said HP Physical I meant a physical type...it's 3rd gen. Maybe HP bug or HP rock. I dunno.
     
    No, I'm pretty sure it has to do with type. That's why HP grass is used on Raikou in 3rd gen.
     
    But it holds a choice band...I know it wouldn't effect fire blast, it's more as a surprise attack since I don't have the EQ TM. Uh, what do you think about the moveset though?
     
    It has a wonderful HP stat, so give it Leftovers. Shell Bell is an Option cuz ur gonna inflict a lot of damage with 160 ATK.
     
    Understand the item part, but what about the surprise fire move? Worth it? I have nothing to wall steels )=
     
    Eh. I'd make it a pure physical attacker. If you find out they got Skarm, just predict when it's coming out. If you switch in Slaking vs a Blissey and they have skarm, switch to a skarm counter, because you know it's coming out.
     
    I've got it! Focus Punch. He learns it naturally as a vigoroth. That would be great...wouldn't it? I'd replace flamethrower. Also, without any HP or defensive EVs, could Slaking survive a STABed modest 252 special attack EVed Thunderbolt from Zapdos? I know it has poor special Defense...just wondering.

    EDIT: Could it survive heracross's brick break under the same conditions?

    Wait a sec. How can I use a subpuncher set with traunt? that would be a nightmare, even with yawn. I was thinking of using this:

    Slaking@Choice Band
    Jolly Nature
    EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP
    ~Hyper Beam
    ~Focus Punch
    ~Shadow Ball
    ~Aerial Ace

    I'll probably switch out after attacking, so that's why I have Choice Band. I can't see any pokemon except rock/steel/ghost types surviving hyper beam. That's what Focus Punch and Shadow Ball are for. I'd switch in on blissey. I'd use focus punch, and when skarmory switches in...BOOM! Is that startegy flawed? Or fine?

    Well use Adamant for the Nature, as for everything else, fine. I completely forgot about Hyper Beam. But for the Nature part, Jolly is an option.
     
    Okay, now that I have the moveset, adamant or jolly? He has 100 base speed, 160 base attack...I'm leaning towards adamant but I need some reasons why I should use it b4 I do.

    Well, he's a beast if you increase that attack, But it's pretty much based on weather you want his attack or speed increased.
     
    Well, is there antthing at or below 100 base defense I really need to outspeed that relies on the nature, like maybe heracross? If not I'm using adamant.
