"Sleight of Sand!" Episode Discussion

    Here is where you can discuss both the Sinnoh debut of Butch and Cassidy and the return of the wacky Hippopotas in "Sleight of Sand!"

    My review to come forthwith.
     
    Wow I actually was awake to catch this.^^

    Loved it in Japanese, but honestly the dub was funnier (except Hippowdon is Hippopotas's dad, not friend, but that doesn't really matter).

    I loved how people still don't remember Biff...er---Butch's name! XD Though Cassidy is seemingly terrible with names. I would love to see how she would butcher the twerp's names. Also I think Hippowdon secretly hates them all. The poor hippo was thrown around so many times, I forgot Pachi was inside of him. I found myself pretending to be Ash saying "Hey guys let's just forget about Pachirisu and keep moving the plot along!"
     
    - Yay Hippopotas is back! It's cuter the last episode it was in
    - What's the difference? lol
    - Hey! It's Cassidy & Biff!
    - The name is BUTCH!!! Geez 11 seasons and they still get his name wrong!
    - Wow they really butchered Cassidy's voice, I liked her orginal voice
    - Yeah Cassidy's voice sounded terrible
    - Poor Pachy! It must've smelled inside Hippopawdon lol.
    - Yeah: "Hey let me out! Get me outta here! OMG the smell help!!" XD
    - Battle of the Mechas!
    - I'm glad that Hippopotas and Butch and Cassidy made another appearence
    - When was the last time we've seen Butch and Cassidy? I think back in that one episode during the Battle Frontier saga.
    - Yeah it has been awhile for them, and they got more Johto Pokemon XD
    - LOL Cassidy and Butch actually copied James and Jessie calling Ash and co. "Twerps"

    In the Japanese version they made Pachi as much as the focus dialogue wise, in the dub I forgot Pachi existed for a good 20 minutes. XD
     
    It's funny how Booch, oops, Butch and Cassidy said that Jessie and James are easy to forget and loose track off. You know, I think that none of Team Rocket even cares about them anymore:laugh: Jessie and James are basically bums that still think that Team Rocket is counting on them!
     
    Now it's time to review!

    - Butch and Cassidy returns! <3
    - You can see the Slowbro mechine and the hot air ballon Meowth for this episode had a quick funny faces XD
    - Damn, Cassidy and Butch's Boss is so annoying, how did the Boss know in the end that there Boss know that they spell his name wrong again, before they response on the phone? >_<
    - I almost forgot about Pachi in the rest of the episode XD
    - At the end of this episode did Meowth say "Hunk" or "Hulk"?

    I give this episode a 9/10 I thought this Dub was good still.
     
    Time for my review! ^^

    - Cassidy and "Biff's" return ^^
    - LOL, Cassidy called Butch, Pootch.
    - Professer Namba still gets references in this reason. >.> When was his last apperance? About six seasons ago?
    - Meh...I liked Cassidy's old voice. D:
    - Mecha Fight = PWNSOME
    - The little Meowth balloon made a little face before being blown up. XD
    - LOL Fourth wall breaking, "You guys go through this EVERY week?"

    Overall: 9/10, A good, funny episode with the return of many familiar characters.
     
    Had to watch it on Veoh, no sign of it on YouTube...the low quality really makes it hard to concentrate. I ended up forgetting about Pachirisu because Biff and Cassidy surprised me so much haha.

    - Hippopowdon is ugly
    - But Pachirisu is too cute
    - Hippotas too!
    - Meowth: It's the goody twerp shoes
    LMAO Meowth's mouth didn't move when he said "shoes"!
    - I was really NOT expecting Butch and Cassidy! Urgh, voices...Cassidy, especially. Not her fault, but she was made to speak SO slowly!
    - The Namba thing got kinda annoying when it got to Biff
    - Oh yeah, I completly forgot about Pachirisu being stuck XD
    - Granbull's voice...
    - lol I liked the motto when their voices doubled up
    - Robot wars!
    - LOL Ash's eyes when he's blasted off
    - I like Shuckle's voice even though it's hardly creative "shukle-ukcle-uckle!" XD

    Cassidy's voice to me has gotten a lot better.

    The animation was god awful. Why is this guy still employed

    I hate how they replaced TRs extended motto theme in favore of that stupid guitar theme. That just made me upset.

    Not a bad episode for a filler, but I still wish they would stop killing time with these episodes and just get around the gyms...

    Anyway,

    + OK storyline if not a bit bizzare...
    + TR vs TR was quite funny, if they teamed up maybe they could achieve their evil goals...
    + J&J pull another huge mecha out from nowhere to fight C&B lol
    - Woah C&B's voices are way off, they took a while to get used to...
    - Why not just return Pachirisu to it's PokéBall?...
    - Baaaadddd animation again <_<
    - Hippowdon must be the ugliest Pokémon EVAR! Seriously what are the designers on?

    Well thats my two cents, well seing as I'm English, it's two pence but who cares?

    Roll on next week and the arrival at Veilstone City!

    Yes, I heard that too. Thought I heard "boner" and I was like, wow what?.

    Hippowdon's design is okay except for the feet and the end.
     
    Liked the expression on the face of the Meowth balloon, its probably getting tired of being punctured all the time :laugh:. I should have thought of that, about Dawn returning Pachirisu to its ball. Guess I just wasn't completely awake yet.
     
    Teeheehee What a funny episode. Teeheehee I have to say it hada lot of good points to it. For once Team Rocket didn't want to do the motto was like so coolies. Teeheehee Still Cassidy and Biff. I mean Butch. May need to rethink their motto and see if they can redo it. It wasn't very good.

    I so forgot about Pachi but really when she was out there or more like inside I was so finding myself replying those scenes so I can do dialog for Pachi. "Wee! Look at me! I having so much fun!!!! Teeheehee Come on and play!!!!"

    So many misprounce names. Teeheehee Misprounce names on parade!!!! Teeheehee

    This is why you need to check our dub title thread more often, as we try to analyze such things. Hehe. Anyway, it's a pun on "sleight of hand" -- for once, a not-outdated phrase.

    On an episode related note, I didn't care for the animation/character designs, at all. They just had to use the really cheap character design for the return of the recurring, now-somewhat serious villains. Bah. It's almost insulting, particularly as the pair has been off the radar since BF, and would have been a nice way to debut in the new region properly (then again, they needed to be obscured, due to their overexposure on the Chronicles episodes). I'm quite used to the cheap animation, but this time, it bugs me.

    Yeah, that power double standard annoyed me, too. Cheap Sinnoh parts. Heh.

    Ah yes, Takeda. He's the guy who can't animate for crap. I am so thankful that we don't see him often because thisb episode makes me want to gouge my eyes out.

    Personally I think the animator for the last episode Shimuera, should have done this one.
     
    Teeheehee Yeppie. I really love how Jessie mention that they are getting this robot on intrest free. Teeheehee Still I guess now we know why. Teeheehee No good Sinnoh parts. It is making the Rocket Trio robots not so great. Teeheehee

    Still do you think that Cassidy and Biff, I mean Butch, mean that Team Rocket will play a bigger role in Sinnoh? I mean they were there to research the sand of Hippowdon but you think that maybe that could spark some intrest from The Boss?

    Ahem. To answer Reyna, I'm not sure. Lately, the region's big bad, Team Galactic, has been getting more prominence. Unlike Hoenn, where we had the Chronicles episodes to feed our Team Rocket org needs, but not this time. Plus, there was the double shot appearance in BF (Scheme Team and Berate and Switch), so I think the current formula is set, but it could change, as D/P is proving.

    As for Giovanni, who knows what he's interested in these days? Since BF on, I can't figure out his current motivations.
     
    Teeheehee Yeppie. It just seems like he is getting his fun from just watching what Team Rocket does then doing anything seeing that he in the future deines a pokemon sent to him.

    Yeppie, still didn't we get a cameo snapshot at them during Sphere of Influence?
