"Smells Like Team Spirit" Episode Discussion

I think Dawn more of idolized him because of his battling skills, but what do I know? =P

I really like the super nerds. ;) For whatever reason they've always been one of my favorite trainer sprites. I like how smug Conway was portrayed throughout last night's episode.

Though it had been a while since I last watched an episode of Diamond and Pearl, this episode really surprised me. I hadn't seen many episodes with Paul appearing, but I think that this episode has told me all I need to know about the guy. What an ass! I get why he pushed Chimchar so hard, but he lacks the compassion and understanding that a decent trainer should have. This is why I think the writers had Paul team up with Ash, to show how his selfish ways contrast to the kind-hearted nature of the show's hero.

Actually, because of NOA's HQ location, this (the title) might be a tribute to Nirvana or grunge rock in general. But that's just me. Don't hold a .357 to my head for me coming out of left field, but I needed it out of my system.

That Conway was really creepy and if he was base on the Super Nerds then congrats. They successed. Teeheehee

Also this episodes smelled like old Nirvana. Teeheehee

Well the battles wasn't rush which it could have been with the pass events like Pokemon Leauges. I mean it was a shame not to see Dawn and Conway's battles but it was okies. We got to watch Dawn and Conway Vs Ash and Paul battle.

Well they these have been great episodes. I am sure I would say more but not sure. Teeheehee Still it was nice to see Conway looking coolies like that. Makes you think if we will see Conway again? Reunion in Veilstone? Teeheehee

I can't say this episode suffered from pacing problems, no. So far, only part two had that problem, whereas, the two other parts were fine.

Wasn't it nice to see Brock in action, as he did a great job with Croagunk, and almost had Paul for a while? Also, I'm also amazed they remembered about Hyper Beam's recharge, since the writers often forget that. Heh.

Oh, whenever Croagunk slid under Torterra, was it me, or did it do the Rockman (Megaman to US fans) slide? Hm.

I know. I so love that battle between Holly and Brock vs Ash and Paul. That was great to see Brock in the game and just providing beatings like that. Teeheehee Crogunk was just awesome and so had the advantage by being much smaller on Torterra. Coolies lots. Still that was not coolies the battle had to end soon with Leaf Storm. I was so hoping for Brock to win. Teeheehee

Do you think this episode would have been better if they added another part to it so we did get see Dawn and Conway's battle? I mean during most things that needed two parts like the Kygore and Groudon episodes there should have been one more part?
 
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! I thought Ash and Paul were going to lose! I was so happy!

- Ash looked so cute at the start! Good animators for this episode!
- Urgh. 4Kids BGM. Some of its good, the Ash riding in his bike through Spearow scene, but, I'm being serious now, the rest made me want to throw the keyboard at the screen
- Brock supported Ash but not Dawn! I thought that was unkind
- Unexpected evolution!
- I loved how Team Rocket were happy when Ash won!
- I love how Ash was jumping around and Paul just stood there, ignoring everyone. Paul reminds me of me there; that's probably what I would do o.O
- I want Conway to come back!

Man this last Episode was very epic battles to me, I keep forgetting is this episode was the last episode for this sesson? it remind me when Buizel and Heracross where holding around there shoulder it was like there were like Pokemon Terminader if they survived. Lol funny jokes Jorah.

So does that mean we won't get a new opening until after those 5 episodes?
 
Ah, NOW the "We blushed!" scene makes sense. Even my younger sister asked me what they said in the Japanese version.

I also wondered about the "breaking all the rules part" and why they would be allowed to stay in the competition.
 
Well to me the 'breaking the rules' part just kinda was the same that as said in Japanese verison. It meant the same thing since well it was against the rules. As in why they were able to stay. I guess since Chimchar was Paul's at the time it didn't really count against them in the battle.
