So, if there's Ruby and Sapphire remakes, do we finally play as Emerald?

Mainly what i said in the title. Do we?
I personally love emerald! I love the style and the character design and personality way more than any of the other characters (Berlitz is close) So I was just kind of wondering. If we count old remakes it tends to go as one retro character, and a new playable character.
What are your thoughts on this?
Do you agree with 1 retro/ 1 new?
Are you excited for HG/SS more than the 5th Gen?

I loved the game Emerald, but not the character.
So I would say no to that one.

And yes, I'm much more excited for HG/SS than I was for DPPT.

I am much more excited for HG/SS than 5th gen. We'll take a look at the 5th gen when its ready to release..

And I don't think that emerald will be playable in those remakes.....

I am also actually more excited for HG/SS than I have been for the release of any other game, since I am among the 90% of the pokemon-playing community that's been wanting a Gold/Silver remake.

So, I think I am more excited for HG/SS than the fifth gen because it's a little obvious--they're making some STRANGE pokemon now.

Seeing as there's been absolutely NO word on Nintendo' s next handheld (unless they're counting the DSi as a new generation), we're not hearing anything about the fifth gen of pokemon for a while...
