Short introduction is short, huh? Anyway, hi, and welcome to PokéCommunity! Since you want to make yourself know to the forums, why not try telling us a little bit more about yourself? I think that would help people get to know you better! It's all right if you don't want to, though! It's a choice in the end.
Anyway, I think you should try checking out forum sections and go into wherever you like most! Posting around should get you up to speed on most things on PC. Have fun messing around! (Don't forget the rules, of course! XD)

And yes you are already known! Welcome to the forums, SoarinSolrock! As what as Twiggy said, it would be great if you could add more information about yourself if you want to get yourself known by the members here, simple info would be great as it will help us think of tips and advices to give to you the best PC experience, we're not asking for your whole biography and all! :3' .. But nonetheless, I'm still gonna give you a bit of how fun PC is! :)
PC is diverse, so you could join topics related to Pokemon as well as topics not related ot it, and that's the first thing that makes PC incredible, so if you ever get bored of Pokemon, then the off-topic boards are there to fill out your boredomness! I always visit those sections whenever I feel like discussing Pokemon enough! The second thing that everyone here likes the most is it's calm & friendly atmosphere, you could meet a lot and make bunch of friends, everyone would love to be a friend of someone else. <3; So if you ever feel like talking to me, feel free to visit my profile dear, and the last, well I'll leave it to you, the experience would be amazing if you could find out more about PC and explore it yourself.
