OK, here is a thread for my l33t BRAIN TEASERS

Note these multiple-choice questions require LOGIC, not plain guessing, to figure out, because you must MUST EXPLAIN WHY you've chosen your answer!

(If you want the answer and explanation, say "give up", so I won't mistake it for an answer.)

*There is only ONE correct answer for each question unless specifically stated!*

    ***EXAMPLE ONLY***

Q: Which of these Pokemon is the odd man out?
    a. Mew
    b. Mewtwo
    c. Alakazam
    d. Jirachi
    e. Ralts

A: c - Because Alakazam is the only evolved Pokemon in that list.

    ***/EXAMPLE ONLY***

    OK, here is question #1:

    About GROUPING

Which of these Pokemon do(es) not fit into this group?

    1. Articuno
    2. Porygon2
    3. Ralts, Kirlia and Gardevoir
    4. Deoxys
    5. Ninetales

Choose one of these answers and say WHY you've chosen it:

    a. 2 and 3
    b. 5 only
    c. 2 only
    d. 1 and 4
    e. None of them

(Hint: Their appearances DO NOT matter!)

That's an easy one. Articuno and Deoxys. They're the only legendary Pokémon in the group.

I'm sorry, but you're WRONG! (not even close!)

I'll give you another hint: Their types and stats DO NOT matter either!

EDIT: I changed the wording of the question to make it slightly easier.

    B. Ninetales, it's the only one that can't learn a psychic type move (Articuno learns Extrasensory in XD)

Hmm...I love Brain Teasers I guess e.None of Them....

You didn't tell why you picked that answer, Naruto...

Um... Smarties you answer were right, but your reasoning wasnt correct - it was WAY OFF!

Final hint: Look at the NUMBERS!!! - It's got everything to do with NUMBERS!!!

EDIT: Ninetales learns IMPRISON, and it's a psychic type move!

EDIT2: If no one manages to get the correct reasoning, I'll post the answer along with Q2 by midnight tonight (NZ time). You have a whole day to figure it out - it's VERY OBVIOUS!!!

EDIT3: COME ON ppl!!! its not that hard!!! its OBVIOUS!!! Think why i put numbers before the pokemon?

I know this isn't the correct answer, but I'll give it a try anyway. The answer is E, Ninetales, because the rest of the Pokémon come in order in the national dex, but Ninetales definitely doesn't come after Deoxys.

E is right. But the number thing isnt that complicated :D

It's the numbers related to the pokemon thats important! (Why did i use Porygon2 instead of Porygon for the second pokemon?)

EDIT: 1 and a half hours remaining on this question!!! :D

The answer is too obvious! Of course, Ninetales isn't one of the group, because the rest of them have a number matching the amount of forms they have.

    OK, I'll call it right.

Actually: Look closely at the BOLDED bits:

    1. Articuno (uno = one)
    2. Porygon2
    3. Ralts, Kirlia and Gardevoir (family of 3)
    4. Deoxys (4 forms)
    5. Ninetales

See how Ninetales doesnt fit into #5?

(It doesnt matter if you dont know that uno means 1, because there isnt an option "1 only".)

    Right, here is Question #2:

It's about a bouncing Spoink (Just a brain teaser, it's got nothing to do with Pokemon really):

A Spoink fell into a well 12 feet deep. He could bounce 3 feet, but every time he bounced 3 feet, he fell back 2 feet.
How many times did he have to bounce to get out of the well?

Choose one of these answers and say WHY you've chosen it:

    a. 4
    b. 6
    c. 8
    d. 10
    e. 12

(Hint: Note my bolded parts! :D)

***This is an easy one, but Q3 will be hard!***

    E. Spoink is only going up 1 foot each jump, so it would have to jump 12 times to get out.

Oh, and as a friendly suggestion, try not to double-post...

    E is not right, sorry!

Read the question again and take note of the bolded words.

Another hint: Why did I not just say that he bounces 1 foot at a time?

(I had to post 2 mesages, 1 is the answer to Q1, the other is a new question. otherwise its confusing.)

EDIT: It looks like there isnt enough ppl answering this question... I'll give it another day or so :)

    a. because FELL BACK might mean when it jumps 3 feet it LEANS back and goes backward 2 feet meaning it always goes 3 feet up

    The Spoink question is easy.

    d.10

the ten first jumps will always get it 1 foot up, but there is no need to jump the last two times because after it has got itself 10 feet up, it can just jump the last three feet with one jump and get out.

    Smarties is right!

"Get out" doesnt necessarily mean "stay out" :)

Question 3 will be harder!!! (I'll avoid double posting, Q3 is right below.)

    *******************************************************

    Here is question #3:

    It's about a PATTERN

    Start: Regice
    1: Mawile
    2: Entei
    3: ?????
    4. Machoke
    5. Mew
    Finish: Sableye

Choose one of the following to replace "?????", and say WHY you've chosen it:

    a. Suicune
    b. Trapinch
    c. Nosepass
    d. Umbreon
    e. Volbeat

Hint: Each of those Pokemon represent more than just itself! And there is a 2-way pattern to this.

Nosepass. The pattern goes like this:

Regice is weak against Mawile, Mawile is weak against Entei, Entei is weak against Nosepass and so on...

darn i was gonna say that -_-

Yes, Nosepass is right, but there is a pattern going the other way as well, see if you can figure it out. :)

(It's pointless to put anything before Regice, and there is nothing can go after Sableye.) :)
