Some Random Team

Okay. You can be the judge on what type of team this is. I'm mixed between 1/4Sandstorm, 1/4 Steel and 1/2 random. Please rate and fix. I just came up with a bunch of movesets and EV's. Not sure how good they are. Checked some standard Smogon sets as well.

    Hippowdon @ Leftovers
    Impish <252HP/4Atk/252Def>
    Earthquake
    Ice Fang
    Stealth Rock
    Slack Off
Well. He's a pretty awesome Tank/Wall and he manages to set up a Sandstorm. Not sure how good he'll do.

    T-Tar @ Life Orb
    Adamant <4HP/252Atk/252Speed>
    Dragon Dance
    Crunch
    Earthquake
    Stone Edge
I chose Adamant on this guy because I want EQ to pack a real punch. You can't really have a Hippowdon in a team without a beastly attacker and this guy is probably the best as he doesn't get buffeted by the SS and he gets a power up for EQ. Was gonna use Gyarados but a lot of teams use counters for him with T-Punch and T-Bolt. Cresselia usually carries Charge Beam anyways and that can do a lot of damage.

    Metagross @ Life Orb
    Adamant <152HP/252Atk/104Speed>
    Meteor Mash
    Earthquake
    Agility
    Thunder Punch/Ice Punch
I'm having mixed feelings about that last slot. Ice Punch helps get rid of Ground/Flying types and that's good against Gliscor and Hippowdon etc. but Thunder Punch gets rid of Water types and Flying types such as Gyarados, Starmie, Skarmory, etc. Help me decide please.

    Skarmory @ Leftovers:Keen Eye
    Impish <252HP/100Atk/156Def>
    Drill Peck
    Roost
    Spikes
    Whirlwind
Standard Spiker set. Didn't need Stealth Rock so I added Whrilwind and Roost. I've opted not to use BB because of the recoil damage and Drill Peck does good damage anyways. What do i need to breed to get this?

    Snorlax @ Leftovers:Thick Fat
    Careful <168HP/120Def/220Sp.Def>
    Curse
    Return
    Rest
    Crunch
Normally I'd use Restalklax but Curselax sounded better to me due to the defensive increases. Acts as a Physical and Special Wall.

    Alakazam @ Life Orb/Leftovers:Synchronize
    Modest <4HP/252Sp.Atk/252Speed>
    Calm Mind
    Psychic
    Focus Blast/Substitute
    Grass Knot
I don't know whether I should use Substitute to get up Calm Mind or Focus Blast. I may replace Calm Mind with Substitute. CM is important on this guy though so it's a little unlikely. I first thought Gardevoir as a Special Sweeper, but Espeon had slightly better B Base Sp.Atk. Then I thought of Alakazam and he had the highest Base Sp.Atk I could be bothered doing. I chose Modest over Timid just like T-Tar because of the extra damage.

I don't know how good this team is looking. I tried various Pokemon in Various areas but these were the favourites to do damage. it was hard because i couldn't really put Metagross and T-Tar as sweepers when there were so many candidates for Sweepers. I also had to keep in mind that i wanted a Spiker, Starter and 2 walls. I used Hippo as a an SR dude and also a Starter/Wall because he/she can take hits. Sniorlax over Blissey for better move pool and higher attack. Can also take a lot of hits, just has less HP. Agiligross because CBGross isn't my favourite moveset. I've always liked Agiligross more. T-Tar once again could use the effects of Sand Stream better than Gyara. I was thinking of Chomp but he's only good with Choice Items due to low Defensive stats.

I'd suggest Alakazam with the TrickSpecs moveset because with Life Orb and Sandstorm running, you'll be taking 16% a turn, and that could easily remove the chances of Alakazam sweeps. Also, do not run Substitute with Sandstorm up and running. Alakazam always runs Timid to outrun pokemon like ScarfTar, Infernape, Starmie, and Azelf. Another thing that I've noticed on this team is that Alakazam is your only source of Special moves, which could very well mean that physical walls can come right in and set up on you. Weavile can cause some problems too if it comes in on Alakazam. :x

Agiligross honestly is walled as badly as Electivire (that's bad!) so I would lose it. Run Jolyl on DDtar always if you want to carry out a sweep ._. As Raikazu said, run Timid on Alakazam. Curselax is really outdated and doesn't even come close to a "physical wall." Snorlax is used to wall special attacks and its set should reflect that with the powerful special attackers that exist in this generation. Use resttalk Lax. Curselax is hardly viable.

Yeah, I'll run Timid with Lefties or maybe the TrickSpecs set if you could post it up, please? I'll use Focus Blast over Substitute unless there is another move?

Yeah, I don't even have an Alakazam yet. This was just a list I made on the spot. As for CurseLax, I usually use Sleep Talker but this guy was to try something different and if there's something wrong with it, then it will be replaced. As for Agiligross, He's a kind of favourite(and you helped me make a good set for one)but I don't really like CBGross unless it's LOGross. Maybe I could replace it with a Gallade. I've just started EV training my Gallade into an SD'er. Need a few more vitamins and I'm done, then I can start the last process of 152 Attack EV's for him. Anyways, I could also use another Special Sweeper here maybe? Espeon or Vaporeon although Vaporeon is only good for HP Electric which I can't really be bothered breeding for. If I need another Physical Sweeper, and I can't see why I would, I'll maybe use an SDChomp or MixMence. ScarfChomp is kinda Uber though so yeah, probably won't use him and I can't be bothered anyway. So my options for a SpecSweeper are Gardevoir/Espeon/Vaporeon and for a Physical Sweeper I have SDChomp/SDLade/SDLuke. What should I do? I'd like to use Gallade as I've never used him before and Flying moves are basically he's only weakness(if I'm correct) and the only common one's are BB, AA and DP. Those are usually rare as well though but the most popular and the pokemon that use them(namely Skarmory) aren't too much of a problem for this team.

    Alakazam@Choice Specs
    Trait: Synchronize
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 252 Sp.Atk / 252 Speed / 4 HP
    - Trick
    - Psychic
    - Focus Blast
    - Shadow Ball

Is the normal TrickSpecs moveset. Shadow Ball is used for that Fighting/Ghost combination - really kills a lot. Shadow ball can kill off Celebi, Starmie, Slowbro as well as other opposing Psychics.

You are EXTREMELY mix-ape weak the only person on your team who can stop him is Hippo, ( and alakazam but if he predicts right then no )but then again most of them carry Hp Ice or Grass Knot =/.

You are extremely Mix ape weak.

Hp Ice or Grass Knot - Hippo

    FlameThrower - Metagross, Skarmory

Close Combat - Snorlax - Tyranitar

and alakazam dies to any move it switches in on =/

Yeah but Mix-Ape is only one pokemon. He's used but not so common that I have to change my whole team around. Besides CC doesn't 1HKO Snorlax, Flamethrower is weak on Ape, Flare Blitz is better and HP Ice isn't a 1HKO move either. Besides, Mixape is worse than SDApe. That's what I'm more worried about. Anyways, I can counter it. Don't worry.

You do realize Mixape is the most commonly used set right ? and lol Flamethrower is not weak especially with the Life Orb boost behind it, and even more so with a Nasty Plot boost. CC DOES OHKO lax with SR up and as you have no spinner kthnxbai lax. You also must switch in, so even if you switch in on a predicted Grass Knot or Flamethrower CC WILL Finish lax next turn.

But try to toss it aside as much as you like, Mixape takes out 5 of your team with absolute ease, the only thing that even stands a chance is Zam, and thats only because it is faster, still it cant switch in on anything mixape packs.

    So, to counter the ape

    Starmie@Life Orb / Leftovers
    160 HP / 132 SP.ATT/ 216 SPEED
    Timid Nature
    Trait : Natural Cure
    - Thunderbolt
    - Surf
    - ice Beam
    - Recover

Counter Starmie, who also helps with your laughable Gyarados weakness aswell.

    >>Zam IMO.

Well, i wouldnt recommend using curselax on sandstorm just because the fact that you wont be getting lefties recovery, and starmie over zam anytime because its a bit more bulky and does better in sandstorm in the long run. Use the standard jolly scarfchomp in place of snorlax, and use the starmie set listed here

    Starmie @ Choice Specs/Leftovers
Timid- 252 speed, 252 sp attk, 6 hp
    Natural cure

    ~ Surf
    ~ Ice Beam
    ~ Psychic
    ~ Grass knot/Thunderbolt

So snorlax for garchomp, and use starmie over alakazam, as for that hippowdon, you already have a skarmory as a wall and ttar for SS, so id switch out hippo for standard blissey *which doesnt care about sandstorm anyway*

    Good luck with your team
    the rest looks good.
*only one ice weakness for the win*
