Now, I had never even heard of spriting before I joined here a couple of days ago. I noticed there were lots of people doing it, and I thought I should try, because it has to be even a bit fun if there are so many spriters. Well, I tried, and it is fun. But you see, I know nothing about the true essence of spriting, so I need you people to tell me what I do wrong or badly, how bad it is and what should I do to correct it. School hasn't started yet, I still have time...

    First of all, here's me:

This is the newest one I've made...

And these are first recolours I've ever made. As you can see, I tend to recolour them with another pokemon's colours, and then vice versa. I think it looks nice.

The last Gallade is coloured with Vaporeon's colours.

And here I have more of the same kind (note that the counterparts are always next to each other):

Yeah, a golden gengar and a ghost raichu...

Next I tried some recolouring with random colours. These colours are actually from raichu and celebi:

And then I have these. I don't know what they're supposed to be called officially (I'm new to this, as I said), so I call them mimics. They try to mimic another pokemon, but I have not made any physical changes, so it's just kind of pretending.

I think flareon isn't exactly doing a great job in mimicing anybody, but those mimicing umbreon are doing pretty well.

And of course I had to try mixing those sprites:

Here we have the Legendary Winged Beasts of Thunder, Ice, Fire and Ghost ;D
I made those just to try out, so they're not the brightest pieces of my imagination. Skitty has parts from Ponyta, though.

I've drawn since I could hold a pen in my hands, so drawing isn't new to me, but this stuff is, so help is needed. Thank you for watching these!

Haha those are nice. I acually think with more spriting and practice youll be an expert. Especially if you can draw well. I wasnt much of a drawer so yeah i cant sprite. Have fun and get better are my words.

I made some more, this time I recoloured and modified trainer sprites, and I modified them quite a bit...

All right, first I made some changes to their outfits and hairstyles, but without any deeper thought:

Kind of dull, aren't they? That blonde in a pink dress is cool, though, I hate her colours but I like her.

Then, I thought I'd make something cooler, and decided to make fire type Pokémon trainers:

Personally I don't like fire type Pokémon that much, but I love the colours of orange, yellow and yellowish orange. That's mostly why I made these. I like the little girl most, she has a nice dress and nice colours.

And I also made trainers in japanese school uniforms... That was really fun.

It was actually easier than you'd think... The first one's clearly a nerd, so I like her the best. What do you think of the blond girl's hair, does it look natural enough?

And... I made a wedding dress...

It was easier to make than I had thought, but it was still a long job. I also tried to make her look less evil.

This was the most fun part in the whole thing. I made a set of almost identical sisters, every one of them specialised in two certain types of Pokémon. Their outfits reflect their types:

The first one is dark and poison, second one is grass and ground, third is ice and water. Then we have the sister with fighting and rock type Pokémon, one with psychic and ghost types and the last one has electric and fire types. The seventh sister went and joined Team Galagtic and was my model when making these. Personally I like sisters 2, 3 and 6 the best. The last one, the sixth, has nicest colours.

So, what do you think? I think I'm better with these than with actual Pokémon :D Oh, and if someone wants to use something, you can ask me! Don't steal, even thought they're not even worth it...

    EDIT:
I thought I should make some boys, too...
So here we have a young boy and a small boy:

And another set of siblings with different types of Pokémon:

This time, though, they're all boys.

Interesting variations. I enjoyed looking them over, while constantly telling myself, "Something isn't quite right here..."
