Why does it seem like everyone has gotten a rom of Fire Red or Leaf Green and hasn't waited for a cart release? It's kinda bothering me, because I'm wanting to wait patiently for this game, but at the same time I want to know what everyone else is talking about. Ruby sapphire doesn't get many posts anymore, and sadly that is where most of my expertise lies. I feel kind of left out, and I don't know what to do about it.

(By the way, this is a serious question and I must ask for no jesting answers.)

You can either import the cart, or just wait. Personally I'd just wait, and scoop up whatever info you can find at the moment. It's fun on the imported cart, but the English one is where you'll spend most of your fun time. If you don't feel immoral about ROMs, I suppose you could get one. Really you have to make the ROM or cart decision for yourself. As for waiting for English or going Japanese now, I'd wait.

To be purely honest, the biggest reason i don't use roms is simply because I have this unexplainable fear of them. Like my computer is going to crash or something is going to go wrong or I'll accidently pick up a virus. It's like a phobia or something. I guess I 'll just have to wait for the cart and hope that they plan to release it in english sometime soon.

In general ROMs site do have spyware or porn on them, but the actual ROMs don't really *hurt* your computer. It's 90% your conscience as far as ROMs go.

hmm... rom phobia eh? *pulls out internet dictionary*

    Re: Pokemon FR/LG *Rom Phobia*

Well, I have the Rom in Japanese & i works just fine. I went & found a guide on the game at GameFaqs.com Ive alread been to the 1st 3 Mystery Islands & ive beaten Giovanni & Gary & im on my way to the Pok?mon league with my Lv.67 Charizard & Lv.46 Pikachu, my two strongest. I also have a Moltres(it was an easy catch. I can't wait for the game to come to the US! Just ask me if u want it & I'll send it to you.

I suppose I could give the rom a try. A friend of mine has the rom himself, and he showed it to me once. I'd be happy if you'd send me the rom Scott. I'm just concerned that it may require a particular software or something to run it. My friend made it sound very complicated.

ROMs are great if they're classic games that you once owned/aren't available anymore (for the SNES and the like), but if you ask me, downloading one of an upcoming game because you can't wait for its official release is a bit sad, whether you intend to buy the finished game or not. :|

The roms for FR/LG arent that great, not all of it is in english and i get the feeling that the translations arent entirely accurate, you could play the rom for a short time, just to give yourself a taster and then wait for the cart, or u could give in to temptation and play the rom, get far into the game to the point when its all japenese and then when the cart does come out you wont want it anymore.

who ever wants to learn more about fr/lg come

fr and lg have come out in japan recently .i am japanese so i got the game. there will not be a water blue because blue was made in the us and they sent them to japan relesed them and relesed them in the us next so no no blue after you beat elite get 60 pokemon in fr/lg then go to oak and he will give u a national dex after that go to 7 islands and search 4 the ruby and sapphire plates and go to the 1st island and go to the huge machine the man will then let u trade r/s to fr/lg. i will only tell u this 4 now :D enjoy

You download the Japanese rom to get a taste of how the game is..
And when the English rom is out you download that rom to look if you're going to buy the game or not..
