Yup, that's right! I don't know if I should be asking this one, but it made me think, what are the qualifications to be moderator?

I'm really interested about this one...

Or if you don't want to answer, it's okay just close this thread instead.

    Thank you for responding... ;)

You...uhh...probably just killed your chances. We pick members when we find someone we think will make a good mod.

    What a new rule change?

Pika's url should help you understand.

I think the admin staff picks some very good moderators.... Look at Webmaster Discussion, it was on the verge of total n00bness until they brought Robo (Morkula) in.

So respect their decisions, and my best advice for any mod hopeful is just to be yourself. Wanting to be a mod (and trying really hard to suckup) gets you nowhere.

No, not a new rule change. We've always picked mods based on abilities. And, abilities or not, those who ask always have the worst chance of getting decided upon.

And listen to what Blaze said if you want to get modded. Nobody likes a phoney.

    Incredible mind power

    Super human strength

master of the art of Tai Chi

    the basics...

Maybe this is like gamefaqs, channel ops,

"If you have to ask, then you will never be one", etc.

I'm guessing the qualifications are the basics like: Knowing the rules in and out, being a good member, etc.

As it says in the FAQ.
As with many forums, the general rule of thumb is "do not ask to be a mod or you will not become one."

Now it is totally up to the Higher Staff (as in, S-Mods, Praetors and Admins) on who is to become Mods on PC. But before we Mod someone then they have to be friendly (don't want them snapping at anyone), know what they're doing in that forum (like if it's the Pokemon gaming forum then they better know about the games), know the rules really well (that's most of all), and be helpful to the members (Mods have to help members, other members can also help members). Also reading the FAQ and reporting threads is another plus. But everyone has to remember (just incase all of you run and and start doing the things I said), we're not going to Mod anyone just because we want to. The forum has to need a Mod for us to Mod someone. We're not going to Mod ... in the Other Game forum if Triffy is on a lot and taking care of the forum really well (that he is). But if he's on way less (as in school stuff) and has other things to deal with then we'd get another Mod in there with him.

And Blaze is totally right, I hate members that'll suck up to me just to try to get Modded "Hey Andy, do you think I'll be a Mod some day? | So how do you think my chances are on getting Modded?" and so on. To me sucking up kills the chances even more then asking to be one.

    Don't mini-mod either...it's annoying as hell

Mini-modding is usually a rule on some forums not to be.

Being something you're not is bad.

Alot of times people do it to get noticed so they will be able to get noticed by the mods and admins in hopes to become one. Doesn't work lol.

    I guess the best way...hmm

Be a good leader. Post enough...show your intelligence.

I agree with dakota and arcanine, in order to be a moderator anywhere you need to be abile to do alot of things and show your worthyness on many aspects of your creation to produse activity and help the community, I know from way back in the past I ruined my chances by asking to be a mod --; and I also would only like to moderat areas in or around the art gallery and poetry parts of PC, which already carry the best mods and I would never take their place so I wish not to be a mod but rather a amount of help to them and a loyal second hand provider.

It took me a long time to even become a moderator of a oekaki and admin of three, it's alot of hard work and you need to be there a long time and know many connections to become a admin and or moderator in any forums. You also need respect and many responsibilities as a member to become one.

I hope that wasint confusing and it came out alright, sorry if any information seems cluttered -_- I've been up for two days cause of my insomnia and some personal body functions all females get sometime around every month for five days =/ Pain pain and more pain T_T;;; Making me feel sick...

Many times these have been left open resently for people who have questions fallowing the information with the post and to help others who may need more information =D I asked awhile back on one of my threads if it could be closed and it just never did o_o still is around too, I think :goes to check on it:
But your very welcome and I think you'll do a great job being a member ^_^ your very friendly and kind which is something this place is needing more and more, I'm not sure if I welcomed you in the new members threads, but Welcome to Pc =3. I'm sorry we havent seen eachother befor hand. And good luck with future insite and ideas ^^ i'm sure we would be happy to hear em.

    Thank you for your compliment.

I confess, i never made a welcome thread because I already know that I'll be really welcome. But then, I hope it's not against the rules.

And all I need is to adapt with PC's environment.

    ...

What was the point of that? This thread went three days without a post.
