Something I've noticed in the games.

Like a previosu poster mentioned, the first Generatopn and Second Generation Town/Cities Revolve aorund Colours. But the professors however, do represent trees or plants. Eg. Pro. Oak - Oak Tree Pro. Elm - Elm Tree - Pro. Ivy Visious Plant ect.

All of the Kanto cities were named after more obscure colours (Viridian, Saffron, Lavender, Cerulean)

All of the Hoenn cities were named with compound words about the city (Old-dale, Little-root, Slate-port, Ever-grande)

The Johto cities were a mix of the above (Violet, Mahogany, Cherry-grove, Black-thorn)

The cities of Sinnoh are similar to Hoenn's (Sand-gem, Snow-point, Sunny-shore, Twin-leaf) but there are a few odd ones, like Canalave and Pastoria.

And the Sevii Islands are named in number (One, Two, Three, Four)
