4th Gen something new

first of, sorry if this is in the wrong section

this has happened twice so far whilst playing ss, after a battle my mareep got poisened, and we all know how after a few steps the screen goes fuzzy and the pokemon loses 1hp, well on the way to the pokecentre i noticed something knew, it came up with 'mareep survived the poison, the poison faded away'

is this a new feature or was i just inlucky in all the other games.

New feature. Your Pokemon can never die from Poison outside of battle in HGSS.

Actually, not so new as Platinum had the same feature. I can't recall if D/P had it too or not, but it's possible that it might have (haven't played it in awhile XD).
