    Why?: Because I feel that it displays to me what Melancholy really is.

    Why?: I like it best because it looks like it fits the theme well & I like the animation effects.

    Why?: It immediately caught my eye as being the one that showed the most emotion. I think it fits the theme best.

    Why?: The animation adds to the melancholy feeling more than any of the other entries. Portrays the theme the best, as Kat put it.

    Why?;; This banner stood out the most to me, it has very little effects, the lighting has added to it, the scan lines are the finishing touch and the overall feeling just says Melancholy to me, although a lot of the other banners have done this, Loki's just stood out the most to me.

    Why?: It has a sad feeling to it. I think it's just the render though. XD

    I was going to vote for Kaiyori, but I looked at it and it didn't really fit the theme. >:

    Why: i really like the rain effect, it adds to the mood of the piece rather than making it cheesy. the colours are really fantastic as well

    Reason; The simpleness of this banner is great. I love how the render is hidden over on the side where is dark which matches "Melancholy". The text and flower suits the banner nicely.
     
    Phew.. this was a tough choice.

    Why?: This one just grabbed my attention, even though it's simple. I chose it because it's different.

    Effects are beautiful and shiny .o.
    The text can go and die but the added flower gives it that extra emotion.

    because the pic represents malencholy the rain and the tears.

    Why?: I think it is nice, and the colours he used are cool. I also like the Idea.
