    Prologue

It was in the early years of Earth. When monarchs ruled, knights stood by their sides, and the Earth was still in touch with the world of spirits. Once there was a mighty King names Rano. The kingdom he ruled was never before at such strength, and his vast empire stood for miles and miles.

The only reason was his mighty blade, the Soulblade. A mix of the souls of the mightiest warriors, and the will of the man who held it. Its strength was unrivaled and its powers feared. In the wrong hands it alone could bring the destruction of the Earth and the spirit world, or could save the things we most cherish.

It was a silver blade, sleek and bold. A golden hilt and handle signified its power, on one side was the depiction of an angel and on the other a dark skull. Rano vowed to only use the sword in the darkest times , because unless you actually seen it fight, the powers it gives the human holding it are unimaginable.

Unfortunately one knight underestimated the power of the sword. One day the greatest knight in Rano's court killed Rano in cold blood. Blood dripped from his sword as he threw it to the ground. The knight's name was Drake, wearing a trademark black full body robe including his hood. Drake reached for the Soulblade and his eyes widened to the size of tennis balls. As soon as he held the Soulblade in his hands his mind was filled with power and wisdom.

All the strength of a million warriors, and the power to the souls of others were at his command. These were the dark times. Drake gripped the golden hilt and only thoughts of blood lust filled his mind.

Then in an instant the tower exploded, killing thousand in the area as Drake flew into the air and stood in front of the destroyed capital. It only continued from there, he flew around the world destroying and killing anything.

When he entered the village only screams of pain and torment could be heard. Men, woman, children it didn't matter to Drake he slaughtered them all. For 50 long years his power ruled the Earth, and anybody that didn't please him was killed in an instant.

Drake managed to slowly gain a table of 12 knights to follow him. Finally a knight betrayed him and finally stole the Soulblade in the dead of night whilst Drake slept. The knight was also a sorcerer and used his vast magic abilities to copy the sword. The problem was its power was too mighty to become two deadly swords, so he split the power in half. The two swords were of equal strength.

The new sword only depicted the angel, whilst the other only depicted a skull. The knight returned the sword to its rightful place and gathered the other knights to fight Drake in the morning.

Morning came and the 12 knights marched into the vast throne room, all wearing the same full body white robes with the hoods down, to hide their faces from Drake. The walls were lined with tapestry of gold and red depicting the Soulblade in all its glory. Drake felt the knight's souls and knew they aim to kill him. He would not let it happen.

Drake held out his hand and the Soulblade materialized in front of his eyes. He felt a weird sensation like the sword was drained but he paid no mind. Leading the knights was Hamlet holding the other Soulblade. Drake finally realized that the reason his blade was weak was it was copied and infused with some of the power of the original.

"You bastard." Drake said darkly narrowing his eyes.

"I'm here to de-throne you, give up of suffer." Hamlet demanded pointing the tip of the Soulblade at Drake.

"Just try and kill me." Drake said coldly then charged at the rebels. In the single attack eleven knights died, their corpses swimming in crimson and their flesh rotting.

Only Hamlet and Drake stood trading blows at each other, neither even landing a hit on the other's body.

"Give up, there is no way you can win." Drake sneered and laughed a cold laugh.

"Never, I will not let you keep this world in fear. The years of darkness must end." Hamlet countered the struck a mighty blow at Drake.

Drake tried to ward off the blow but it was too fierce and pushed through his defenses and slashed through his black robe and his right side. Blood littered the floor as Drake clutched his right side.

"Now its time to finish this fight, and add another warrior to the blade." Hamlet muttered as he clutched the hilt of the Soulblade.

Drake knew what was coming and prepared himself. His right side was on fire but he couldn't leave himself open to THIS attack.

Hamlet's Soulblade grew a ghostly green aura around it, and Drake's did the same.
The rivals charged and stabbed each other in the heart.

Time stopped as the two stood in the throne room, blood staining their robes and an intense look in their eyes. The green aura suddenly surrounded each of them and in an instant they disappeared into a black void that opened beneath them.

This was the story of the Soulblade, and it was thought lost in the voids of time until one fateful day a written legend was found while excavating the area almost 2,000 years later.

Since the day two sides formed trying to find the Soulblade. The lights, sided with Hamlet and the 11 knights. While the darks sided with Drake. The legend continued to say there was still a bloodline that held the only genes that could control the Soulblade and all its power.

It seems Rano had a child and the line passed through the ages and lived to the modern day. Finally one night the child with exceptional magical energy was found. The night that came to pass would be called "The night of Darkness."

It rained cats and dogs in the residential area. The houses all creepy looked alike in shape, the only thing different was the paint color. Thunder rang out and lightning cracked through in the air. In the street stood three figures, all wearing black robes.

Their faces were hidden as they marched up together to a single house in the middle of the street. Two stories high, painted sky blue the three noticed as the walked up to the door.

A father sat in a large green chair watching a football game, Green bay vs Chicago to be exact. he wore light brown slacks, and a stripped button up shirt. He took out a cigarette and a green lighter.

"I can't believe that Green bay is going to lose." Muttered the man as he stuck the cigarette in his mouth. He held the light up and before it could even light the front door soared through the living room and through the kitchen. An outstretched arm of a shorter person only stood in the door as the man's eyes widened in fear.

"Sleep tight my angel." Softly said a mother smiling at her newborn child. She lifted a yellow blanket and tucked in the child just as an explosion came from downstairs.

"Give me the child." The shortest of the three asked coldly.

"Who are you black robed freaks?" The man snarled.

"Tell me where the child is and you may just live the night." The short one said again keeping the same cold tone.

"Why do you want my son?" The man snarled again.

"This is getting us no where just kill him." One of the other black robed person said. He was medium height and had a moderate tone.

The short one knew he was right and held his left arm up to reveal his peach toned hand. A black orb of energy appeared in his hand and fired at the father. The orb made him soar though the room and crashed through the kitchen wall before stopping beside the back door. There he laid limp, a crimson pool of blood gathering at his feet as the chest wound stood open showing his internal organs.

On the stairway leading to the second level of the house stood a woman only about 6 feet high. She gasped at the damage that the short man caused and knew who they were after. She concentrated and after a moment a blinding white light enveloped her.

The light dissipated and left her in a white robe and increased strength and magic power. The boy narrowed his eyes when he turned to her and charged at her.

She jumped off the stairs as he came close , and she raised her arm to release an orb of ghost white energy. The boy shielded himself and went crashing through the wall and outside the house.

He stood up, as the rain soaked his robes, then wiped the blood dripping from his mouth and charged back into the house leaving a black energy trail behind. He blasted back into the room and delivered a swift punch into her chest. He jumped up to deliver a kick but it was grabbed to his surprise.

She winced as she threw the boy into the left wall and fired another blast of magical energy. The boy cried in pain as the magic ripped itself into his chest. He flung his head back, and his hood came off to reveal a thirteen year old. He had curly blond hair and deep green eyes. After wincing he finally passed out from the pain.

She sneered but barely evaded the attack of the middle sized man. He came at her with twin rapiers and delivered slash after slash with expert form. She struggled to dodge each assault and finally got an opening.

She delivered a speedy uppercut then followed up with a kick that sent him flying into the attic above them where he struggled to get up again.

The final black robed man stood silently staring. He was certainly the largest and tallest, looking almost 10 feet tall. He lowered his hands to his waist and put the fingers tips together.

The white robed woman's eyes widened and she jumped sideways to dodge at the last second. The man released a dark beam of energy, disintegrating the wall.

The rain pattered outside as a cool breeze made its way into the room. It was like a western duel, the white robed woman waited for the black robed man to make a move.

She finally couldn't take it and leapt at the man to make a punch, it was futile. The man smirked then grabbed her arm and flung her through the attic and she landed on the roof.

She barely stood up and wiped the blood form her mouth. The black robe man jumped up to meet her.

"Take this you freak." She snarled and an orb of energy flew off her finger tips. The man tried to shield himself form the blow but it sent him sliding off the roof. Before he fell to the ground he grabbed the edge and held on for dear life.

The woman walked over and looked down. Lightning broke the sky behind her and her face was revealed. Amber eyes, and long red hair the man saw before he realized what she meant to do. She wore a crocodile smile then prepared the final blow.

The used all his strength to leap over the beam of light that roared into the ground. The impact of the attack left a crater, and on the bottom a little puddle began to form.

The woman turned only to see the lug charging at her. She had no chance to escape as he grabbed her with his enormous fist and began to crush her bones. She yelled in pain as the life was squeezed out of her, she could barely breathe or stay awake for that matter.

He snickered then used all his might to throw the woman into the house across the street. She was a blur as she flew into the building at break neck speeds. The house ripped to pieces as her speed split it in half. She kept going and a long trail of dirt was left behind.

Droplets hit her beautiful face as she coughed and turned her head to the side.

The large man jumped to the front lawn and went in through the door. He walked upstairs to the baby's crib and looked at him.

"What a normal looking boy, I wonder what truly is so special about him." The man muttered as he looked at the sleeping boy.

Outside the woman's eyes blew open and she stood up. A white aura surrounded her and her anger was unleashed. She hovered into the air and blazed through the air and into the house.

The man was about to grab the child when a white blur grabbed him and threw him into the backyard. He rolled and finally hit the fence. He stood up and his hood fell back revealing a tan face with black hair down to his collar. A black aura surrounded him.

"Its finished, you shall die here." The woman said coldly. The man's veins showed on his face as he charged up an attack. The woman did the same.

The orbs sparked with energy as there hands filled with power. Solitary bolts of energy flew off the orbs and struck random objects leaving them half melted or charred. The two grinned and they were about to unleash their forces when two rapiers appeared around the woman's neck.

"Goodbye." The man snickered coldly then slit her throat. Her body fell to the ground limp.

"Hiyo grab Daniel and I'll get the child." The man ordered.

Hiyo nodded to Charles then walked through the back door and slung the teenager over his back. Charles leapt up to the child's room and warped the child in the yellow blanket.

On the street they stood as the rain littered the ground. Charles, Hiyo, stood with Daniel slung over his back. Charles carried the baby and started to mutter some magical words.

Lightning ripped through the sky and thundered roared, and afterwards all four were totally gone.
