Spectators? Tournaments?

    I've been wondering this since G/S/C but how come you never see any spectators in stadiums or the elite 4 battles? I think it would be pretty cool, kinda like the contest stage where you show of your pokemons accessories. Like, the elite 4/pokemon league would actually look like a huge stadium with people looking on.
    I think maybe they haven't implemented this because of too many sprites ? or graphical/hardware limitations?

    Also, how about actual ranking style battles.. like you know, people move up the ladder, vs another opponent, ladder up etc. and plus, there should be lots of these spread around.. not just in once place after you beat the game..
     
    Yeah I've been wanting something tournament-like in the games for a while too. probably why I loved the Battle dome in Emerald so much.
     
    I'm not really that keen on a tournament style e4. I prefer just facing those four final opponents before overthrowing the champion. However, I would like it if they actually added spectator's sprites into the area. Also, they could even be in the background of the battle, like in the contests from R/S/E.

    lol yah, and maybe after you complete the tourney.. you get some sort of rest.. and then you come back to the tournament.. maybe an open-air arena and battle the e4?
    or also.. if you dont succeed in the tourney.. you get to see the winner battle against the elite 4?
     
    How about this: You beat all of the Gyms right? Then you have to compete in a Tournament. There are 16 people who compete. You would randomly be against one of the 16. Ifyou won, then you would go to the next round, out of 8. You would randomly battle one of the Top 8 (which are chosen randomly from the previoius battles), and so on. Top 4. Then the finals. If you have gotten that far (if you faint before, then you have to rest at ythe nearest Pokecenter, and try the tourneament over again. The cool thing is each time you may have somnbody fdifferent, since it is totally random. Anyways, your rival will be the one that will be in the Top 2. If you beat him, then you are onto the Elite Four. I think this would make much more of a challenge, and make the E4s Pokemon a bit higher, since you would be training a bit as well with the tournement. BTW this tournament would be before Victory Road!
     
    This is why I love Pokémon Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness so much. There are actually spectators cheering whoever on! It just brings passion into battling.

    The tournament thing can be done easily. It happened before; ex. the Battle Dome.
     
    I was actually hoping for this for generation 4, but nope still the same, this is really a good idea
