Spencer Hale from "Spell of the Unown"

    I don't know if I'm posting this right, but I was thinking while I was watching the airing of that movie on Cartoon Network yesterday that isn't it possible that Spencer Hale could be related to Silver? They both have similar hair. However, if this were true, then Silver couldn't be Ash's father (unless Delia never married him, or if that Silver and Spencer are half-brothers).
     
    Silver is clearly younger than Spencer made obvious by the Legend of Thunder opening so it's unlikely that they're brothers. Silver probably isn't his son either since he wasn't shown in the picture that Deliah had. The only thing they have in common is their hair I think. They're probably not related at all.
     
    The HGSS games confirm that Silver is Giovanni's son, anyway. The anime wouldn't change something like that.

    Giovanni has been confirmed to be Silvers father though! They could still have a relationship I guess!
    Maybe hes Giovanni's brother? Giovanni supposedly had a fling with Delia before Ash was born (according to a live show she used to be in team rocket or somthing, so that caused rumours Ash is Giovanni's son) and Spencer supposedly knew Delia when they were young when he was Professor Oaks student or somthing (proof at bottom of post) so maybe Spencer hooked Delia and Spencer up? xD~

    This is why I loathe people calling the game character "Silver" (thought now that they've eliminated any possible chance of him getting his own unique name, it's inevitable). While I never imagined this mistake to be made, it only brings to light what people think.

    The physical familiarities are there, but you can say that to a lot of characters (the doppelgangers, anyone?). I'd wager they aren't related in anyway, just two similar looking dudes. Happens all the time.
     
    Guys, Marilynasol was talking about Silver from the Pokemon Chronicles episode Search for the Legend and NOT the rival from G/S/C/HG/SS.

    I can see the resemblence.
     
    Honestly I think this is purely conicidental. Like JakeyBoy said, I don't think the anime would be that deep. And besides, we don't even know if the movies are canon or not.
     
    Sorry for not remembering a random one-off character. Like anyone would remember a random CotD when a more significant character has the same name.

    The animé re-uses character designs all of the time. No different here.
