Where did you hear this? That is one large tunnel that should go underground if true, not underwater. There also weren't any boats/docks in Vibrank that I've seen outside of the Anime episode which we know isn't accurate.

Some Tidbits of News on The Pokemon World Tournament:

08:00 The World Tournament is based in Driftveil City where the Freezer Containers were.
08:52; World Tournament now houses the Move Relearner/Deleter.
09:00: You need to enter into the World Tournament where you meet Achroma in the final.

17:04; You battle your Rival and Cheren in the World Tournament when you're first there. Cheren has a Stoutland, Watchog & Cinccino. Achroma has Magneton, Klink and Elgyem.

I saw somewhere that the World Tournament is sectioned off by Region.

Kanto you face the Kanto Gym Leaders (HG/SS versions) and Blue as the Champion.

Johto you'll face the Johto Gym Leaders and Lance as the Champion.

Hoenn you'll face against the Hoenn Gym Leaders and Steven as the Champion.

Sinnoh you'll face against the Sinnoh Gym Leaders and Cynthia as the Champion.

I didn't see anything about a Unova section...so its possible that the Unova Gym Leaders won't be included.
 
Perhaps they'll be helpers? A reformed Giovanni as a new Gym Leader? Koga with his daughter as a double team match? Maybe another double match with Wallace and Juan. I got nothing on how this would work out.
 
Janine is for fuschia city kanto and giovanni takes 8th gym leader since blue is champion.

Since steven is champion i believe wallace is the gym leader following ruby sapphire's list.
 
I dont think jasmine would appear only because she wasnt technically the original gym leader(koga was)

Now the juan and wallace issue is probably gonna be settled like Xandor0 said

OR

They can both have epic double battles
 
Janine (Jasmine is the Steel Gym Leader of Johto), is already confirmed in the Pokemon World Tournament. She's labeled as a Kanto Gym Leader.


Sweet there is a Unova tier in the Tournament.

Also Unova Gym Leaders award 1 BP while Kanto Gym Leaders award 2 BP.

Since Unova reward 1 BP. Perhaps it'll be by release with Unova being the default with 1, than Kanto which will proably be the first release with 2, Johto with 3 if it follows Kanto, Hoenn with 4, and Sinnoh with 5... yay for Hoenn and Sinnoh if so :3

I can't wait to see what the rest of Unova's teams are.
 
Seems like Serebii is getting a lot of updates for the World Tournament now.

Driftveil Tournament - All Pokémon at Level 25
Rental Tournament - Pokémon are randomly chosen for you, akin to the Battle Factory
Mix Tournament - All Pokémon at Level 50, can switch a Pokémon with your opponent before combat
Unova Leaders - Battle Unova Gym Leaders at Level 50
In one of the modes Roxanne, the Gym Leader of Rustboro City, is battlable

Apparently the World Tournament is our new Battle Frontier.
 
Rental Tournament seems fun. I am assuming Driftveil one is the one Akuroma is featured.

Wait are there more than one building, I thought there was only one being the one in Driftveil...and yeah that's the one Akuroma was in.
 
The world tornament is apparantly gamefreaks new idea of a battle frontier

Now i actually miss the battle frontier and its old (emerald old) facilities *sigh* ;(
