Well, there seems to be lots of talk about the battling system recently, but what about the contests?

With the new contest system consisting of three rounds; Visual, Dance, and Judgement; the D/P contests will be slightly different to its predecessors.

Visual consists of "dressing" up your Pokemon with items that you gain with each new ribbon or as a trade for berries, in an appeal to the crowd for hearts (similar to Pokeblocks in R/S/E). You'll have to use the touch screen for this, and physically place the items onto your Pokemon.

Dance consists of the use of the DS's touch screen and tapping the right pattern in time with the music. The 4 steps: Jump, Left, Front and Right.
Obviously here, the better your timing and rhythm, the higher the points scored.

Judgement is just your original R/S/E attack performance, with the exception that you now appeal to one of three judges instead of the audience.
Also, there are only 4 contests move appeals instead of the 5 back in R/S/E.

The contest ranks are still there, along with the different types of contests, all located handily in one building Contest Hall in Hearthome City (Yosuga City).

What are your thoughts on the new contest layout??

Yea it is way more difficult. But I like the dressing up part. But the dancing is going to be hard

That's old news...but anyway...I never worried too much about the contests. They always seemed more like a sidequest, and I never had reason to go through them...this time around, though, I don't know...

xD, well I thought it might have been but true... the game is released in the US in a couple of days.
Well if a mod sees this, and if they feel like it, they can remove the spoiler label.

I've found the contests to be much harder this time round, the dressing up and the dancing taking up a vast amount of valuable points for the finish.

Sidequest maybe, but I think there's a building in the north-east which you can only enter with a Master Rank Ribbon.
