Spoilers in sigs~

OK, I'll admit it. Despite being a Star Wars fan, I haven't seen the new movie yet. Which is why sigs are annoying me. Everywhere I go, I see stuff like "RIP Jedi Insert-Name-Here - died in Episode III". Can we, like, totally not have spoilers in sigs?

I'm with you on this one. If I haven't seen the movie yet then I also wouldn't want to see them (good thing I went the first day XD). But the thing is, it's not breaking any rules. There really isn't anything we can do unless it's over sized or porn or whatever. Even if it's an image you still got text.
But best thing to kill all the spoilers in the sigs is for you to turn off sigs untill you get to see Star Wars Ep 3.

Also, the Jedi they are talking about has no relevance to the movie whatsoever. I think only major spoilers should not be allowed...

Yeah, you can do it really easily with customBB code.

Yeah, the spoiler code. It automatically make text within it the same color as the backround of the forum. Unfortunately, it is not an automatic function on PC. Besides, that wonthelp ridding of others spoilers unless they were to put it.

The spoiler tags were going to be my suggestion, but I guess they were already brought up. I mean, if you see someone who has a spoiler in their sigs, and we did have the spoiler tags, you could nicely PM them and ask them to use them because they are giving away certain parts of the movie/show etc... for people that haven't seen it yet. I don't think anyone would mind doing it.

eh... why put spoilers in your sig in the first place?... and if you do have a problem and the user doesn't want to remove, i guess don't show sigs.

lol @ spoiler code... ppl do that on irc at times, set the text color as the background color...

We used to have spoiler buttons, but they got removed due to some possibility the Java or something could be exploited. o_O;;
Don't ask me to go any further, I got six hours of sleep and I have no idea at the best of times.

Well, I don't see much wrong with exploiting XD. Mmm, you can do a replace of

Spoiler:

with <span style="background-color:#000000;color:#000000;"></span> as a custom BB code but it doesn't do anything about images~

All i can really suggest is just politely asking people to take heavy spoilers out of their sigs, or disabling sigs until you have seen the film etc :3
The problem with spoiler codes and html codes is that they can be easily exploited..and i doubt many people would take advantage of using them ._.

The best way is to turn off sigs for now. Because even with a spoiler codes in place it will take time for most everyone to put the text in the spoiler tags. And that still doesn't take care of images. You still could have "RIP (Name Here)" on the image.

I don't think most people would bother XD. And there's no exploitation in implementing the code I suggested XD
