    SPOILERS (pics of winona gym battle)

    is it just me, or is grovyle the creepiest (and the coolest) pokemon that ash has ever had?

    check this out from the preview from the last episode. this is ash vs winona, winona's shiny swellow vs ash's grovyle.

    the episode aired yesterday and it went like this.

    Pikachu VS Pelipper - Draw

    Shiny Swellow VS Grovyle - Shiny Swellow wins

    i was kinda surprised winona didn't use skarmory, but whatever

    yup. he gets a new one after he evolves.
    this one doesn't have a leaf though

    oh and this battle was grovyle's first loss ever since he evolved, by the way. and he evolved like 18 episodes ago.
     
    In my country, it's been aired up til' the fishing guru episode.
    Guess I'll download some more episodes later. I wonder if he'll
    get another twig or branch when he evolves again.
     
    Wow, Grovyle is schizophrenic, um, yah. It didn't look like that on the drawing in my prima book. Well, um, no wonder it won with rage like that.

    well actually, grovyle lost that match against swellow. but it did knock about the dragon/flying altaria very easily.

    that last screen with grovyle having a small pupil like the t-rex and a sharp tooth coming out looks like hes gone absolutly crazy!!!!i never thought ash would catch such a psycho monster, but ratings were down soo..:P

    ash did choose pikachu but it was fainted by winona's pelliper
     
    man pikachus gotten soo weak. and iv got pruff. seems like all it can beat is team rocket. it lots to a lousy good for noth'n pelliper, it could of killed 4X's over!!anyone would agree.
     
    I agree. His Pikachu is getting weaker or something. I mean, its obvious the Gym Leaders arent getting any tougher, and Pikachu should be getting stronger. Therefore all the battles should be a synch by now! But noo, they have to weaken Pikachu to like, weaker than his first Gym Match. Talk about Mind-Boggling.
     
    wow, i've just found out that right now in japan, the number of gym matches that grovyle/treecko participated, and the number of gym matches that pikachu participated, are the same! the others are kinda underused in gym matches, though.

    Pikachu (5) - roxanne, wattson, flannery, norman, winona
    Grovyle (5) - roxanne, brawly, flannery, norman, winona
    Corphish (2) - brawly, flannery
    Swellow (2) - brawly, winona
    Torkoal (1) - norman

    now pikachu isn't the only one overused anymore. hmm..
     
    Man, Grovyle looks absolutely evil...I can't wait until it evolves in America, finally, this will be Ash's first mean-looking pokemon since Charmeleon, it's long overdue...

    And no Skarmory? ;_; I was hoping Winona would have a Skarmory in the anime...but is this a cliffhanger or did Ash win? I'd love to see Skarmory vs. Grovyle; two really evil looking pokemon going at it...

    ash won. winona did have a skarmory, but it was a 3v3 match and for some reason she didn't use it against ash.
     
    Dang Ash! He always wins on the hard Gym Leader but then how did he lose to Brawly!!
     
    Oh boy, heh. This thread's well over its limit-age of a month old; I don't know how these elderly threads survive for so long...what's their secret? ^_^; Eh, I ran out of good ending jokes before I close a thread. *shrugs* Anyway, feel free to make a new thread if you still wish to discuss the topic.
