Is it just me or is the spread of pokemon in FRLG totally useless? I am doing a nuzlocke in LG (apart from being ahem less successful(more boxed mons than team) and all there seems to be even in cerulean is caterpies pidgeys raticates and spearows.
I have only played FR ages back on an e.bay fake cartidge so thats a while back, but I did play lots of blue in the day and I still have a old nuzlocke running on an classic green cartridge and I can remember that you had plenty other mon in cerulean , like sandshrew, and ekans, abra, bellsprout.
and those were common, as in you get them as soon as you walk into a field common..

Yup; that's how it is, unfortunately. :( If you'd like to have a more variety of Pokémon, you cannot get a hold of them until you reach Safari Zone in Fuchsia.

Yeah, one of the reasons why FRLG are my least favorite Pokemon games. But on the bright side, it seems Nintendo has learned its lesson, look at how many Pokemon were in Kalos before the National Dex :) 454 Pokémon in the PokeDex.

Yes that was great. I kinda got consoled a bit when there were enough fill ups near the digdas cave.

The distribution of Pokémon on FR/LG is exactly the same as it was in Red/Blue, except in Cinnabar Island.

You can get Sandshrew on Route 4, Ekans on Route 3 and 4, and both Abra and Bellsprout on Route 5. All those are close to Cerulean City.

I am actually doing a Firered Nuzlocke right now and I am glad to play with the dupes clause. But for the record, 3 pidgeys and 2 meowths are dead(along with a beedril and rattata)

It's a hard game to Nuzlocke but once you get to mid-game the options open up greatly.
Between the Eevee and the Growlithe/Vulpix and Gastly the teams begin to expand.

Thats strange, I can swear that i used sandshrews for grinding when i played green or blue, and ekans, but in LG i havent encountered a single one in cerulean..guess thats my luck.

I have done 2 bellsprouts and they were both killed at lv 19. sigh. My rules a dupes try once more and then take it or leave it.

Here#s my grave yard for LG and Green
    LG
Ronald the caterpie lv4-6 killed during grinding by a crit
    Herbert the weedle lv4-5 dto
    Hanna the Spearow lv7-10 dto
Zach the zubat lv 7 by a doubleslap of doom
Raisa the ratata lv3-14 crit by a 2 levels lower ratata
Pidger the pidgey lv4-14 killed by squirtle against green
Kunigunde the bellsprout Lv12-19 killed by a crit from a lv 17 machop :(
Knutbert the bellsprout Lv.12-19 killed by a no escape magnitude 10 lv 20 Digda
Mehmet the meowth lv 10 -10 ohko crit from a fury swiping spearow ...
I have got no luck with the bellsprouts , now I haven't got a plant mon against misty :(

Green: Guruguru the Pidgeot lv 3 to 33
killed by a juggler with a hypno in fuchsia's gym
