The sound of shouts and cries suddenly awoke Miles from his sleep. Still fatigued, Miles dragged himself from under his sheets to investigate what had awoken him.
The room was still dark as he ineptly made his way towards the door leading into the hallway. The shouts and cries he had heard had now faded and soon silence filled the void. Miles continued his way from his room and down the hallway to where he had heard the source of the commotion. Stifling a yawn, Miles entered a larger room where his parents had seen him off to sleep.
The room was dark. The only source of light guiding Miles' path emitted from deep within the hallway from which he had arrived.
Miles stood unmoved as he surveyed the sight. His eyes widened as he saw his parents sitting in the very chairs they had been in when seeing him off to bed. A limp arm hung from the chair's side as his father's blood marked the ground. His mother's blouse was also decorated with a deep red as a single clean cut marked her throat. They were dead.
Miles watched the scene still unable to move. His heart was pounding within his chest as he watched his parents' lives disappear. A dull light suddenly flickered from his side. Miles turned his attention to his side as he raised a thin red knife in his hand. He gazed into the knife's blade seeing the light reflecting against it. He suddenly felt light-headed as he stumbled forward with the knife outstretched in his arms.
"Miles!"
The voice echoed in the darkness as he felt the blade strike its last victim. His eyes widened as his sister embraced him. They stood in silence as the reality of the situation processed through their minds.
Miles blinked. His sister's warmness covered the knife's blade, soaking his hands. Keeping a steady hold of the knife's blade, Miles watched as his sister collapsed to ground beside her parents. The light around them faded.
Miles closed his eyes as he felt the knife's hilt slip from his hands. Time slowed and the knife's point slowly swung towards the ground. A dense sound emitted from the knife's point as it finally struck the ground. Miles opened his eyes.

The door burst open and a tall but beautiful woman entered the room. Miles immediately abandoned his bed and stood beside his mother as she scolded him for sleeping so late into the morning. "Miles, you should stop going to sleep so late at night," she began in a dangerous tone, "you've been sleeping in continuously all week a-and look at this room!" His mother scanned the room with piercing eyes. Miles frowned as he too looked across his clean and well kept room. "Hurry and get dressed, you have a job interview this morning!" she finished in an exasperated tone. Miles watched as his mother finally turned and headed for the door. "Oh, and Miles…" his mother suddenly spoke.
Miles turned and faced his mother who did the same. His eyes widened as he saw a thin clean cut marked across her neck. "You should stop taking orders from Team Rocket, you may hurt someone."
Miles stepped back. A blood stained knife lay in his hands. His white gloves were dyed in a deep red matching the large red 'R' imprinted across his chest.
The light from the room suddenly flickered. Miles fell to the ground in shock as he watched his mother disappear into the light. Then, in a brief flash everything faded away.

Miles opened his eyes. He was sweating and breathing very hard. He struggled to remember what he had dreamt about but knew he would be straining himself.
The invading moonlight washed over his face as he sat up against the bed. His partner appeared unmoved by his awakening and continued to sleep. Miles slowly relaxed as he rested against the bed's side, contemplating on what had caused him to awake so suddenly.
The room rocked against the night's ocean, breaking his concentration but attracting his attention. Crawling from his place, Miles stood up against the room's view and saw that the ship had finally set sail from Vermillion.
The memories of the dream now fading from his mind, Miles shook off any doubts he had of what had happened. He smiled as he watched the waves swell under the moon's light. I'm finally on my way.

Fein sighed as he walked down a hallway, glad that he didn't have to perform in last night's show. He was still exhausted and he was heading back to his room to get some sleep, both pokemon trudging happily behind him, Torrent jumping about and Charmeleon apparently dancing. He surveyed the corridor and found it strange that no one was around, the whole hallway silent. He looked questioningly back at Charmeleon who stared back with an equally confused look on his lizard-like face.
"Char." < Strange >
"You said it. Freaky. Everyone must be in the rooms. Still, it doesn't seem normal."

Without thinking about it too much, Fein continued on down the hallway, and eventually heard noises behind some of the doors. It seemed some people at least were still on the floor. He turned at a junction in his path and walked towards the stairway, Torrent running ahead of him.
"Mud! Mudkip!" < Let's go to the deck! >
"You wanna go to the deck again, huh? Well, we could do with some fresh air."
They climbed the stairs quickly, passing floors on which many people were working until they reached their destination. Fein hurried down the corridor and burst through a door and out onto the deck. They were moving pretty fast now, cutting through the water with speed.

Torrent jumped into the empty swimming pool, which Charmeleon eagerly avoided, and swam happily through the clear water. There were not many people on the deck, most of the passengers being inside at dinner or waiting for the late night entertainment shows. A few trainers were at the far end of the deck, the rest being couples at the edges of the boat, looking out over the ocean and at the docks, which were quickly becoming distant. It was a beautiful sight, he had to admit, but with no one to share it with he quickly got bored and turned his attention to the trainers who were battling not far from the pool. They were fighting fiercely, but one of the trainers, a younger boy, was losing without a doubt. He was using a Growlithe, whilst his opponent, an older girl was using a Chikorita.

Fein watched intently and walked closer to the battle for a better view. In his spare time he studied pokemon and trained, so he knew that grass types were weak against fire. Despite this, the Chikorita was winning against the Growlithe. Fein also knew that you need more than just a type advantage to win, and that definitely seemed to be the case here.

The boy was ordering his Growlithe to use fire spin over and over, whilst the girl was easily dodging them with agility moves, and countering with tackle attacks. In a few minutes the battle ended as the Chikorita finished the match with a vine whip. The boy looked disappointed but Fein overheard the girl reassuring him that he tried his best. The girl and boy noticed Fein watching them and turned to him, walking over to greet him. He shook the boy's hand first and then the girl's, each giving their name in turn.

"Hi! My name's Joe! This is my sister Maria."
"Hi, I'm Fein Gray. I saw your battle."
"Did you? My brother only just got his Growlithe a few days ago. Do you have any pokemon?" Fein grinned and gestured to the two pokemon by the pool. Maria smiled and held up a hand in question.
"Would you like to battle?"
"Err, yeah, sure! Of course!" Fein walked back to Torrent and Charmeleon by the pool, smiling. He knew that if any of the older staff caught him fighting he would be in a lot of trouble, but that was over taken by his urge to battle. Maria and Joe followed him to the pool.
"Guys, we got ourselves a trainer. You ready?"
"Mudkip!" < I'm always ready! >
"Great!" Fein turned back to Maria and smirked, raising a fist in eagerness to battle.
"How many pokemon?"
"One-on-one battle. I'll use Chiki." Maria turned to her Chikorita and pointed to the decking in front of her.
"Okay then, I choose Torrent!" Torrent jumped out of the pool and stood in front of it, ready to fight. Now both trainers and their pokemon stood at either end of the pool, which sat silently between them, dropped into the decking by the pokemon's feet.
"A Mudkip? But that's weak against a grass type. Oh well, your problem! Let's go!"
"Mudkip, go! Use mud shot!"
"Mud, kip!"
"Not so fast! Chiki, dodge it with agility then hit with razor leaf!" Chiki jumped into the air and avoided the mud shot before swinging her neck and shooting three sharp leaves at Torrent.
"Torrent, jump in the water!" Torrent dove into the pool the razor leafs missing by inches and flying off the deck and into the air over the sea. Torrent swam in the water underneath Chiki who landed on the other side of the pool in front of Fein.
"Chiki, use vine whip to pull him out!" Two vines shot from Chiki and shot through the air, into the pool and wrapped around Torrent, pulling him up and throwing him onto the deck with a loud slam.
"Torrent! Hold in there buddy! Use tackle!" Torrent jumped into the pool, swam through the water quickly and jumped out the other side, charging into Chiki, who was sent flying back, just missing Fein who moved in time to avoid the pokemon. Maria gasped as Chiki hit the wall behind Fein.
"Chiki! Are you okay? Come on girl, get up! Please!
"Torrent, now hit it with a water gun and quick attack!" Torrent aimed a water gun at Chiki but before it could hit, the grass pokemon was up and moving towards Torrent.
"Chiki, razor leaf!"

Al finished cleaning the theater and sighed that nothing really happened, then again, should something have happened? He took his bucket and mop and stepped off the stage with his Slowpoke still sitting in the bucket being carried by Al.

It's already late evening and they are already out in sea. Everyone seems to be going in for the night, Al wondered if he could too. He cleaned everything but he wasn't sleepy at all. As a matter of fact, he doesn't really sleep much but it never seems to bother him.

Al went down to the cellar to put the bucket, mop, and such away and rinsed and tossed away any water in the drain that was left from cleaning and then went back up to the decks.

He's at the bottom deck now, but he made his way back up to the top deck to get a better view of the sky. As he made his way to the top deck he looked up and just stared at the stars and the moon, he seemed to be in his own little world. Al gazed upon the moon but he didn't feel anything from it. He just looked at it because he can.

Suddenly some commotion broke out and Al could hear some sort of fighting going on. He tilted his head slightly and slowly moved his eyes to see what is going on. Apparently there is a Pokemon battle taking place between some little blue thing and a little green thing shooting out leaves. They are making a mess.

Al sighed and wondered if he had to clean up after these dumb kids when they are done. He can never have any time to himself. The people on the boat always have to give him such a hussle. Al however didn't want to think about work much. So he turned his head back and just slowly looked back up at the night sky.

Others would see it as a beauitful sky with a romantic moon surrounded by shimmering stars. But Al did not feel this, he didn't feel anything when he looked at the sky. All he did was just sigh once more with his Slowpoke at his side.

The Chikorita blasted a razor leaf attack at Torrent but he quickly avoided it and then ran at the grass pokemon. Fein shouted as he pointed at the Chikorita.

"Go Torrent, use tackle then water gun!" Torrent slammed hard into the Chikorita and knocked it back into the swimming pool, then blasted it with a water gun. Dazed, Maria called back her Chikorita and Joe held up a hand towards Fein, signifying that he had won. Fein walked around the pool to the brother and sister.

"I can't believe my Chikorita lost! It had a type advantage." Maria was looking defeated but Fein smiled and put his arms on her shoulders.

"Hey, you fought well. You nearly had me. Just remember that type advantages alone can't win you the battle." She looked slightly better now, a small smile creeping onto ther face. Joe leaned up and tappped her on the shoulder. Maria turned and looked down at her brother with a little bit of annoyance in her eyes.

"We gotta go, sis! Mum and dad will be worried if we don't get back soon." Joe grinned happily at Fein before running off towards the stairway. Maria went to follow him, but turned around and waved goodbye before dissapearing down the stairs. Fein was left standing by the pool with Mudkip and Charmeleon lounging around. Mudkip jumped and nudged the pokeball in Fein's hand, returning for a little bit of rest. Fein went around the pool area and picked up the stray leaves, bundling them into his pocket and wondering what to do now. He walked over to the edge of the deck and looked out to the sea. The sea was beautiful, the stars and the moon in the sky casting a wonderful light on the dark water.

Wow guys, I'm so sorry for being gone that long, if anyone wants to continue we still can. Basically we need to get all the characters together now, I tried a bit before but it didn't seem to work... Anyways, I figured out another way to go about it.

-----------On the 14th deck-------------------------------------------------------

The deck was almost empty as Bria and Jayden walked up there after the show. He'd been there a number of times before, although he liked to avoid the obnoxious guests like anyone else, Jay was more outgoing and more adventurous than his sister. It was quiet up there this time of night; most of the guests were asleep or in clubs or casinos on the ship. The moon shone on the deck, casting light brighter than even the tall, blue boat lamps.

"C'mon, Jayden! It's over here!" Bria called to her slower brother. He was obviously uninterested in his little sister's hiding place. But he owed it to her to be there after leaving her during practice. She had been right; he was off with teen guests, not to mention: girls. The handsome boy walked with his hands in his jean pockets leisurely following his rushing sister. She only slowed when they encountered a stranger.

Bria stopped, allowing Jayden to catch up to her when they caught sight of a tall boy that looked about the same age as her brother.

Uh-oh. Let's just get past him as fast as we can! Bria thought, and began to walk on the other side of Jayden as if to hide herself.

Ooo! A trainer! He looks pretty strong too, I wish that I hadn't left Caspian downstairs with Bria's Poliwag… Jayden's eyes widened as he saw the pokemon. His Persian was his strongest though; he could never go through a match without it. Besides Pidgeotto and Kadabra were in their room on the lower deck as well.

Bria glanced up at Jayden, giving him a sour look. Those two things were always on his mind: girls, and pokemon. "Jay..!" she said, scolding. His eyes couldn't be taken off of the pokemon. Or at least, it seemed that way to Bria.

"One sec, I'm going to go talk to him, it'll only take a minute." He told her and walked up to the boy. Bria trailed behind him, having no other place to go in the upper deck that was still strange to her. It was quite possibly the only place in the ship that she didn't know.
"Hey!" he called to the boy who was looking over the side of the deck. "Are these two pokemon yours?"
The boy turned around and nodded. "Yeah, Charmeleon and Tor- Mudkip."
"I'm Jayden, my pokemon are downstairs." He said glumly.
"I guess we'll have to battle another time then." The boy answered. Jayden nodded, then quickly changed the subject.
"You've talked a lot to the other guests so far, right? Have you heard any of the rumors yet?"
Bria shook her head. She knew what he was talking about. The boy was going to start thinking that Jayden was crazy soon for saying such things to a stranger. He was like that around the guests though since he knew that they wouldn't be around for long. Little did the two Anneks know that the boy he was talking to was indeed not a guest.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's not my best but it'll do for now I guess. It seems odd I know but it will all make sense once the characters are together.

Miles ran his hands through his hair as he shook off the last of water covering his body. He grabbed his towel and wrapped it around his waist before gathering his clothes and heading for the exit. Night showers were never pleasant but since he had boarded the ship he had not bathed in a number of days and thought the idea may be a welcome change.

Miles returned to his room in order to change. His partner Dragonair had finally awakened but remained curled upon its bed. Shaking his head as he finished dressing, Miles reached into his bag and fished out a small and round electronic device. At this notion, his partner lifted its head as its body began to illuminate. In the next moment, Dragonair had been withdrawn into the device's confines and was then pocketed by Miles.
"I'll take you outside tonight," he said as he finished storing away his luggage. The comment had been directed to the device that now lay in his trousers' pocket.
Leaving his room, Miles made his way through the ship and towards the fourteenth deck.

Al could hear some talking on the other side of the deck where the pool is since its so quiet and peaceful out. It seems like the once empty deck is starting to get a bit more filled. Al didn't want to be around here much longer if that were the case. Besides there were other decks he can be in, he doesn't have to be on the top deck.

Al sighed and began to turn. He walked past the cabin that was filled with people before, the same cabin he washed a couple of hours ago and how he wanted to be in there. At least once to enjoy the soft furniture within it.

Al walked to a window of the cabin and sighed, he placed his hand on the window and slowly leaned his head on the glass to see the inside where there he just started to day-dream again. He pretended that he was there sitting on that nice expensive chair, feeling its soft cloth cushion under himself and the wooden arm rests underneath his skin. He then tried to envision this now with him in one of the ship's parties. How great it could be.

But Al quickly stopped thinking this, as it won't happen. Not now, not ever. He slowly turned back again, he looks a bit sad, but then again that's how he always looks. His Slowpoke slowly came to his side. He should probably go now if there were more people to come. He slowly made his way to the staircase of the deck and began to creep down it to not cause any noise.

However, Al did pause in his tracks and looked back up at the moon just to see it again. He lowered his eyes slightly, he feels nothing.

In the hidden room

The room had been quiet since Bria and her Pokemon left. Therefore, Banette, Delcatty, and Umbreon were in the room alone till dark. Conversation between the three Pokemon ceased overtime, so they either practiced their attacks, looked out the window, or contacted Silphia. At the present time, Banette was doing the first (by firing random Shadow Balls at the wall), Umbreon was doing the second (and just saw blurs of people walking by), and Delcatty was doing the third.
Silphia, where are you now? Delcatty thought.
Well, we came across this little show in a crowded room, Silphia answered, so we watched it for a while. By the way, that girl Bria you told me about was in it. Anyways, she and some other guy ran off directly after the performance, so we're about to see where they're going.
Did you find Kirlia yet? Delcatty inquired.
Let me see... Silphia replied. There was a long thoughtful silence, probably because Silphia now was trying to contact Kirlia.

Delcatty told Umbreon and Banette everything Silphia said, er, thought.
<"Let's follow them,"> Umbreon suggested. <"I've got nothing else to do... YIKES!">
At that moment, Banette fired a Shadow Ball at Umbreon. Umbreon jumped off the chair she was standing on to dodge it and landed on the soft cushion of the same chair.
<"Keep your mind sharp,"> Banette muttered as she prepared another orb. <"This one's not for you.">
<"Let's go then!"> Delcatty commanded, walking towards the door.
<"All right then,"> Banette replied, tossing the orb to the side. Then she floated through the door. After doing so, she opened the door from the other side to let Delcatty and Umbreon out. And then the normal weaving in between people's legs and floating above heads continued as the group made their way over to that dark hallway where Bria and Jayden disappeared to.

In the hallway leading to the 14th deck

Silphia, Professor Willow, Hypno, and Ninetales were in the dark hall. Silphia and Willow lead the way; Hypno and Ninetales followed quietly behind. This hallway was deserted, quiet, and dark, much unlike the rest of the ship. Perhaps it was because a lightbulb was out or something, or perhaps something peculiar was going on up ahead...

Soon the four came to a set of stairs. But as soon as Silphia stepped on the first step, she saw someone coming... from first glance it looked like a little girl with her dad. But a closer look at the shadowy figure showed that the girl had things sticking out of her head... Anyways, this girl and the man grew closer, until they were fully visible in the moonlight streaming through a nearby window.
"Dad! Kirlia!" Silphia exclaimed, in something like a loud whisper.
"Hello there!" Silphia's dad greeted. Kirlia just waved back, and the two followed the rest of the group. It was then that they made their ascent up the stairs.

"So where was Kirlia?" Dan (that's Silphia's father's first name) asked his daughter. "She just found me as I was walking towards this hall."
<"I was in the main room of the ship, just browsing around,"> Kirlia answered. After all, it was always better that the answer came straight from the horse's mouth. <"For future reference, if you ever go there, don't listen to the guy selling Magikarp.">
"You think we'd be dumb enough to buy Magikarp?" Willow asked rhetorically.
<"Anyways, there were trainers there as well... one came up to me thinking I was wild, but I just let him learn the hard way. He threw a Pokeball at me and it didn't work.">
<"Hey, who's that?"> Ninetales interrupted. By that time the group had reached the top of the stairs and walked outside onto the deck. A tall boy was standing there, looking over the edge, and next to him were a Charmeleon and a Mudkip. But what really got the group's attention was a girl and another boy standing next to him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OOC: Gee, I keep typing Kelsey instead of Silphia... boy am I confused.
**Just to sum it all up, Silphia has arrived, bringing her father, Professor Willow, Hypno, Kirlia, and Ninetales. Any minute now, Delcatty, Umbreon, and Banette should be heading there...
Al leaned against the hallway's walls in the darkness. He left the deck just in time as he could see a group walk right past him, not even noticing him. They seem to have gone up to the 14th deck as well to do chit-chat. Al isn't into that thing. He really doesn't have any place in those types of things. He merely watched everyone in the darkness. His Slowpoke however was not by his side like how it usually is.
Al actually became a bit concerned once in his life about something. He looked around but slowly stopped. Pokey left him. Al soon slid down the wall and fell where he just sat there on the floor in darkness. He felt alone, cold and even more miserable. His only friend has left him.
Pokey however did not mean to leave Al, it was simply confused and began to follow a group of pokemon with their trainer back up to the deck. It seemed to have taken a liking to a certain Ninetails.
"...Poke...." It sound in its rather dull and mindless voice.
The Slowpoke slowly made it to the trainers and plopped down on its belly on top of one of Ninetails 9 tails. It didn't seem to notice. It just laid there stupidly.
OOC: Sorry for posting so soon; I have to do something about that Slowpoke. And, this is the perfect time to do something else...
IC:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Nine?" All of a sudden, Ninetales noticed that one of her tails felt heavier. She tried to move the tail, but it was stuck. It felt like something was holding it down... something quite warm.
"Aww, look Ninetales!" Silphia pointed to a spot behind Ninetales; there was a Slowpoke lying on one of her tails.
"Nine..." Fortunately, Ninetales didn't flare up in anger when she saw the Slowpoke. He probably just thinks my tail is a pillow. I'll take that as a compliment I guess.
I don't blame you, Ninetales, Kelsey cut in. Your tails are so soft and warm anyways.
<"Um, Slowpoke? Hello?"> Ninetales asked the Slowpoke, who didn't seem to hear.
"Wait five seconds, Ninetales," Silphia instructed.
"Poke poke poke poke?" said the Slowpoke five seconds later. Apparently he had just barely recognized that Ninetales was speaking to him.
"Nine..." Ninetales put a paw on the Slowpoke's back, but she did so lightly, as if to pet him. Luckily this Slowpoke is rather chubby--otherwise he'd be hurting my tail. Now I have a tail-warmer.

"Interesting," Willow commented. "I would have surely thought that a Ninetales would be fussy about its tails?"
"I think that's only if one hurts them," Silphia clarified, "or grabs them on purpose. Heh, this Ninetales is smart; she knows that the Slowpoke couldn't have known any better."
"Ninetales are smart, that part I know," Willow said with a bit of a laugh.
"Nineee..." Ninetales was apparently blushing from the compliment.

"Hey, look!" Dan interrupted. He had observed two quadripedic figures coming at the group from the stairs, followed by a shadowy creature with red eyes.
"Nyaa!" one of the approachers greeted.
"Delcatty!" Silphia recognized the voice. "And Umbreon and Banette!"
<"Hey, what's Bria doing here?"> Umbreon asked Banette when she saw Bria silhouetted against the moonlight.
<"Probably to get away from the crowds,"> Banette figured. <"Pity--she probably left Narik and that Poliwag behind.">
<"Or they're in their Pokeballs,"> Umbreon guessed.

For the next few minutes, Silphia's Pokemon talked with each other, mostly about where they had gone to while they were separated. Many of them also admired the view from the edge of the deck, and in fact Kirlia was sitting right on the edge of the bost so that it was possible for her to fall overboard. Occasionally some of the other Pokemon joined in as well, and maybe even their trainers. And still, the Slowpoke stayed resting on Ninetales' tail, without much complaints from the fox.
<"Are any of you the trainer of this Slowpoke?"> Ninetales once asked. All she got was a round of shaking heads or shrugging shoulders. After this reply, Ninetales started looking around for any sign of more people, because it seemed impossible that this Slowpoke was wild.

Al just sat there on the floor still. He slowly got back up and quickly paced back and forth. He decided that maybe he should go back up to the deck to just check to see where exactly Pokey is. Maybe he got lost? Al slowly walked back up the staircase to the 14th or top deck. However he didn't walk all the way up the staircase, just enough to see the group of people up there watching the night sky like how he was doing before. He looked around and saw his Slowpoke.

He didn't know what to do, Al began to hesitate. He didn't want to make a racket. So he lightly tapped on to the metal railing of the staircase, Pokey did not respond. He decided that maybe he should call out for it, Al did so however, but in a very low tone of voice,

"....Pokey..." He called for his Pokemon in a low whisper like voice.

The Slowpoke though didn't hear him. Probably because it was either to slow to notice anything or Al just didn't speak louder or clear enough, either way Pokey just laid there motionless on top of some Pokemon's many tails.

Al lowered his eyes to the ground and slowly walked back down the staircase. He would probably be more happy with them, Al thought. He lost all motivation to go claim his friend, he just assumed that Slowpoke left him on purpose. He walked down to the last step and just sat there on the staircase. He held his head down and wrapped his hands around the back of his head with his messy hair shooting out from between his fingers.

After awhile, the Slowpoke heard something, something faint yet familiar.

"...Slow....poke..." Pokey said in a dim fashion.

It slowly got up, off the Ninetail's tail, and slowly turned around where it just went and walked away near the staircase in a very slow manner taking its time. It soon found and reached Al who was sitting all alone on the bottom step.

"...poke..." It said as he moved close to Al and plopped down next to him.

Al slowly brought his head up as he felt something nice and warm next to his leg. He looked over and saw a Slowpoke next to him. His Sliowpoke.

"...Po-Pokey.." Al said with a hint of happiness in his voice.

He put his arm around his Slowpoke and held it a bit more closer to him. Al actually felt good. Al took a deep breath and petted his Pokemon a bit.
