Some of you may have played this game all the way back in '03. It's a snowboard game that some people think is more of an update to it's precursor, SSX, rather than a sequel. SSX Tricky has been a big part in my, I'm better than everyone else I know, group of games and will always be one of my favorites.
I actually got started in SSX when I saw my dad playing the game on his big PS2 when I was a kid. I instantly was hooked. Watching his character do these amazing tricks that required NOT touching the board. All these flips and spins and outright speed, really got to me, and I've been playing it regularly for the past 10 years (give or take a year or so).
Over that amount of time I picked up some tricks to the trade for Tricky. One of those being cheat codes. They are imprinted in my brain in a way no one could remove. The other, being glitches.
Now, some of you may think, "Oh, cheat codes. He's one of THOSE players..." Well, the cheats in SSX Tricky aren't all that game breaking. No "Walk through walls". No, "Infinite Points". Nothing like that. The main cheats for SSX Tricky are to "Unlock Everything" (which is only active when the code is used), and "Max Stats" (Again, only active when the cheats are used. Those cheats work for everyone. So, if you had a friend over to play, they would have everything unlocked and have max stats, JUST LIKE YOU.
Here's the two cheat codes for PS2 (Look elsewhere for GCN or XBOX, you'll find them)
There are some other cheat codes out there that work and some that don't. Those others would be visual cheats only. Not much need there unless you like to use them.
Now, onto glitches.
There are a lot of glitches out there that have been discovered. Most of them being able to win the race with the other players still having to do 3/4th of the race.
I believe I have discovered (if not discovered then I believe I was the first to post it somewhere) 3 more glitches. One is one of those glitches I mentioned earlier. One is not so much a major glitch, as it is just an error in programming. The other can be done everywhere, with no real requirements.
Now, for the glitch I've been really wanting to post about for the longest time and the main reason why I posted this.
So there, if you know of any tips or tricks (Not including "cheats" or "tips" that basically everyone knows about) go right ahead and post. Or if you have a story you'd like to share, share away.

Spoiler:
On the start menu, where you see Moby, Elise, and Eddie, hold L1 and R1 for both codes.
Max Stats
Triangle (x2), Right, Triangle (x2), Down, Cross (X) (x2), Left, Cross (x2), Up, Release L1 and R1.
Unlock Everything
Cross, Triangle, Right, Circle, Square, Down, Triangle, Square, Left, Circle, Cross, Right, Release L1 and R1.
If done correctly, you should hear a beep after you release L1 and R1. If not, try again.

Spoiler:
The first one I will discuss is on Alaska.
You will need to go to where the track splits, left and right, where the track becomes almost like the end of Untracked (It's hard to explain. It's after the ice path with a rail over the river next to it). After that, the track will merge and you will come up to an area that's ice on the ground that looks like frozen waves. There will be a couple plateau-like ice pillars with snow on top. You need to go to the left of those plateaus and at the second one, press the reset button. If done correctly, you should reset onto the snow below the ice, falling out of the track. There is no need to manually reset as you will come across a reset barrier later on.
Tips, you will see where the snow goes below the ice, try to reset right next to the edge of the ice, above where is goes under. Also, if you reset in 5th or 6th place, the AI for the other NPCs will cause them to slow down to give you a chance to catch up as you will stay in 6th place for most of the glitch.
On Mercury City Meltdown, after the big bridge after racing in the woods, there is an invisible rail, leftover, from showoff, that the designers forgot to remove the rail data for when it is not showoff. After that bridge, there will be an overpass that has not been finished building. On the first standalone part, it is possible to land on the invisible rail, and grind the rest of it. (I've had this happen twice within the last month or so, but I haven't been able to pinpoint when I will go on the rail. I know this works for race mode but not sure about the other modes (Freeride or Time Challenge)).

Spoiler:
This glitch allows you to continue racking up points, WITHOUT PRESSING ANYTHING!
To do this, I believe any character can be chosen, any board can be chosen, and any stats can be had. BUT, as I use Kaori 90% of the time, I use her with Max Stats, and the UBERBOARD.
Time to do this. Find a big jump (this could take a lot of practice to pull off, if you are a newbie, or if your a pro, maybe your first time) and hold any combinations of back buttons (it works best with more than one button, but also works with one button IF you do not have your boost bar maxed to where you can do uber tricks), then, press Square (Boost) and immediately let go of square, then in the next frame (or a couple), let go of the back buttons. If done correctly, you should see your points continue to increase while not holding any of the buttons.
Tips, it works best when pressing many buttons as there can be a difference in the time taken to release those buttons, giving you roughly 4x the chance at getting it to work.
The reason I say only one button shouldn't be done is, if you have the boost bar maxed out, uber tricks are possible. Therefore, pressing square at all, while pressing buttons that can be uber tricks, will always start the uber trick.
I say for starters to use Kaori with her best everything is that she has the best trick stat of all the characters, and her button tricks are quick. Allowing you to be able to try many times in one jump.
The back buttons have to be let go second, and shortly after letting go of square to make it work. Letting go to early will cause the trick to execute, letting go to late will start another trick afterwards.
