If someone could sticky this, that would be woot...

So basically this a thread for MEMBERS, MODS, or STAFF to give feedback about the STAFF.

It can be positive or negative, but rules still apply...no flaming, bashing...just don't be stupid. You all know the rules, don't ruin this.

Meh.. I got two.. *hopes he won't get flamed for saying this*
Stuff should get a little less strict, or else soon PC will become like SPPf..
Moderators shouldn't get annoyed with members so easy, just some time back someone said that they get annoyed by reports.. =P

I got annoyed by reports O_o...when you got 50 of em a day, it got annoying...O_o

I agree on the strictness...STAFF LISTEN NOW

"The biggest thing about being a staff is, knowing when to look and when to look away"

I got that out of a book, it's good...

o.o; Meh... kinda spammy post, don't you agree? =P

Looking and looking away ... what? I don't get it...

But about Reports, ya'll placed it, so you need to live with it. Meh, reporting spam is all that members can do y'know.

    Ugh...lemme explain

you need to know when to look at something wrong and take action...and when to look away when something is more important than the law

You know? Letter of the law vs the spirit of the law...

o.o; Something more important than the law... true. Its not like modding is the staff's LIFE or anything, its a job, have fun with it. =P

Meh, and that's one easy thing to do. I was a mod at PokeCorner, well, I know what's more important than the law. There are people who are born to spam, people who are born to be ignored, and people who are born to be popular - or people who are born to be great.
Here, I'll say born means being a new member on a forum. You can tell wether somebody will be good or not. So from these three catagories of people, the moderators should know what exactly to do, and what NOT to do.
Spammer - close, warn, ban.. blah.
Ignored - teach, maybe they'll learn.
Popular - easier to teach, they have 100% guarantee of learning....
Higher -... these guys ARE the mods idiot. =P

Meh, just staring at those things should give an idea of when to look and when to stop looking and take action. Whee?

You know, they could just stop MAKING the spam in the first place.

And Lance, that's just disgusting. Popularity does NOT equate to sensibility. <_<

I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't locked again. --; We didn't ask for a lecture on types of members. I should think we'd know just as well as you who can be taught what, given that we actually try it <_<

=P Why do you think they GOT popular? People found them sensible, reliable, trustable, cool, and 1337 enough to be friends with, thus they became popular through that.

And one more thing, they won't stop spam. There's no way you can make them. Unless they get sensible enough to do things on their own without having moderators running after them... they're spammers. Deal with it.

Its your job... and ya'll make it sound SOOO hard and complicated. =P Don't you know I've been a moderator at one of the most n00b infiltrated forums on the net, and still ENJOYED the position given to me?

....Now this is becoming flamey, and we decided on a non flamey thread... *shuts up*

    ...Must. Calm. Down. x_x

This is going completely offtopic, and to comply with mod ethics, I will not argue back and then end the discussion so you can't fight back.

=P See? That's just one point, ya'll won't come to an proper end with a descision and end it abruptly, causing more of those flameyness to grow.
Well, this IS feedback in a way. We're telling you your pros and cons, so if you have anything wrong with listening to all this ... do whatever you like.

    Not gonna get flamey...... grr...

Now how did I know this thread would go offtopic so fast...

Anywho, to answer a few of the questions. Lance, I don't care where you've been staff, every forum is different. I've been staff a three big boards and all of them were run very differently. PC is not any other board out there and we don't run like any other board out there. The staff are lenient, members just abuse and cross the line too many times and call us bias and say our warnings baseless when something doesn't go the way a member wants it to go. Popularity does not equate to sensibility as Kylie already said. Whatever illusions you have of that are based on unfounded facts, there are a LOT of good sensible members that aren't well known.

Ooh, that would explain why I'm not well know. =P

Oi look. Members crossing the line too much is a proof kind of thing that you're not seeing to them properly?
I won't continue on this.. and I'm NOT saying that you're doing a bad job of modding.

Meh... here's feedback mod by mod, the classic way for me:

    Moderators:
Meh... there are too many of them, but they do their job quite well, as from what I've seen while roaming around.
    Admins:
AZSuprat - Never seen online by me..
Kwesi - Online.. meh, he's okay.
Mewthree - Never seen online by me..
    pokesph - Same as above
Steve - Online a lot... sounds like the highest authority on the forum.
Zapchu - Haven't seen her online for a while too...
    Staff Admins:
Meh... these three do their work just fine... even if its in the AdminCP..
    SMods:
Bobby - Never seen online by me..
    Cowrie - Does her job...
Generic - I see this person online.. not much else.
Kylie- Does her job... and prolly most active of them all.
Mihara - online a lot and does a lotta stuff
    Miyu-chan - don't see her online a lot...
Yukito - meh.... i think i saw him once.

That's it. Now, the "not seeing" means I DID NOT SEE THEM ENOUGH TO COMMENT, not that they're inactive or something. ~_~

And this has just found itself locked. D:

I think I'll be a smartass and make a post to point all the "Anti-Staff" on the right track (it should be locked, I think somewhere we said we weren't going to have a Staff Feedback thread).

All you members out there that are so quick to criticize the Staff should SCREW OFF! (This is not just going to Lance, it goes to everyone out there)
Do you even know what you're criticizing? To me the only ones that have the right to criticize the Staff are X-Staff members, because they know what we do around PC.
"I Modded a forum before so I know what goes on", oh well whop-de-do. I Modded like 30 forums before (a few quite big), does that mean I can run off to SPPF and tell them how to run their Staff or how many Mods they should have? Should I go there and say "Hey Joe, I want you to get rid of this Mod, that Mod, the one over here, that S-Mod and that Admin there because I never see them on", what do you think would happen? I'd get banned or laughed at. You members really don't know what you're talking about when it deals with Staff (I don't give a flip about how much experience you've had at other forums. Show me a large forum where it has the same rules, same forums, same number of Mods etc as PC. You won't find it because no two forums are a like). Any good Staff member would know you don't run a forum by what other forums has/does.
And again getting back to the ones that criticize the Staff. You guys are so quick to jump the gun on bad things the Staff does. "OMG That Staff member posted a pointless post | Look he's flaming | Look she censor bypassed", you guys never seen the good the Staff does. You don't see the time and work they put into PC, you don't see them locking or moving a thread, you don't see them deal with them porn spammers, you don't see them deal with them spammers. That's what you should be looking at, you should be looking at the good they do around PC. I know this is the "Staff Feedback Thread" but like all the others it would have to turned into a "I just want to put down the Staff" thread. And that's what pisses me off. You'll have members going around looking for the bad and putting time looking up bad stuff the Staff does. And that's a load of BS! You guys should be thanking the work the Staff does. If it weren't for us PC would be a dump load of crap for posts. I got a PM a week or so ago from Freenaturearts thanking for my work on PC (and no, I don't want to see every n00b that reads this PMing trying to kiss up to me. Freenaturearts meant what she said, I don't want to see a bunch of n00b PMs in my inbox). And that PM made me feel good, I get PMs like that once in a blue moon. Most of the time it's complaining about something or someone on PC or whating something. And it's sad to say I see more posts cutting down the Staff then ones thanking the Staff. I've been Staff on PC over 2 years and 4 months (Oct 26th or something like that was 4 months) and that's a hell of a lot longer then most of you been members. And in all my time on PC I've gotten less PMs thanking me then the number of posts a n00b makes in a week. I am not looking for thanks for the work I do on PC, I am not looking for a bunch of friends just because I'm Staff. It's just I can't stand someone that will cut down the Staff for no reason.
So before anyone jumps the gun and wants to criticize what we do (for no reason) then you need to shut up and be on you way to whatever you were doing on PC. Because I get really annoyed (more like pissed) when posts putting down Staff are made, or when stupid reports comes in, or when it comes to n00bs. I can't stand n00bs, you can be here 5 years and still be a n00b. I am not going to change my ways for Lance, Jorge, D, Kylie, Steve or anyone on PC. If I'm pissed by something someone does then I'm going to be pissed. And there's only one person that can change that, and that's me. So untill that time comes (if it comes), I'm going to be ticked off by Anti-Staff posts.

We do not have too many Mods around PC. We got 15,250 members on PC, so what if 26 of them are Mods.
Admins: AZ got married not all that long ago. Mewthree is on enough. pokesph is Steve (see what I mean when I say members don't know what goes on with the Staff?). Zappy is in Japan. And we (Staff Admins) don't only do our work in the Admin CP. Bobby is on PC a good bit. Miyu is also on PC, but she has lots of IRL stuff going on right now. David (Yukito) is on a heck of a lot more then you.
And before anyone goes "That's not right, I never see them on", I can bet you that you won't find 20 people that's more active on PC then me.

Call it flaming or whatever you want. Someone has to stand up for the Staff, because it's like most members on PC will put down the Staff.
