Hi guys I am resarting my leaf green because it got boring.

I don't know the best choice for my starter, though. I picked venusaur last time, so I don't know which on eto pick now

    Any suggestions welcome!!

    how about Charizrd?
you can teach it fly so you can have less filled slots.
I would go with Charizard though, its pretty powerful. the rest are powerful too though.........

Okay, but hms are a BAD IDEA.

Thanks for the advice, still need some more, hough!!

Go with whatever Pokemon you like best. Squirtle's been good to me for the Gyms, although with Charmander now able to learn Metal Claw, it can slash its way through Brock at least. Both have trouble with Misty, but beyond that, Charmander's good for Lt. Surge, Erika, and Koga -- on a level. Sabrina gives it trouble because many of the apprentices sport members of the Slowpoke line. Then, you've got to worry about Blaine and Giovanni, but you should have Pokemon that can take care of them by that point. Squirtle can't do much for Misty through Erika (although it can resist Misty's attacks), but it does all right for the rest of the Gym Leaders, especially the last two.

On the E4 front, both Charmander and Squirtle may encounter problems with Lorelei because of her Water-type Pokemon, but again, you should have Pokemon for her by that time. I wouldn't use Charizard against Bruno (because of his Onix), Agatha can be taken by either Pokemon, and with the proper TMs, you may find yourself gliding through Lance without a problem. (However, I prefer Squirtle with Lance because of a combination of its ability to learn Ice Beam and the fact that it's got a one-up against Aerodactyl any way you put it. Gyarados may be a problem, but lead with a Pokemon sporting an Electric-type move, and you'll be fine.)

Overall, I'd say go with Squirtle, although Charmander's got its perks too, considering Charizard's better at quick assaults than Blastoise and does fairly decently for the middle few Gyms.

Easy enough. Go with Venusaur again. It's the only decent pokemon of the three.

Charizard looks damn tough, but he dies to kinda every rock attack out there, and I find little use for fire pokemon anyway. To kill bugs and grass you get a nice bird like pidgeot, who doesn't die when someone stares at him and for steel a STABed earthquake does a better job anyway. He's a nice sweeper, but I wouldn't take him for anything other than the looks.

Squirtle is a tank. Pure and simple. And not even one of the best anyway. There are much better water pokemon out there, like starmie. He can take you through the gyms, but he's just there, you're better off using the rest of your pokemon at that point.

Venusaur is pure genius. He can take on about anything out there. Even fire and flying and stuff. He's got tons of hp, and nice defenses. You can go through the game with the simple combo Sleep+Leech Seed+Razor Leaf. Rinse and repeat. Sleep+Leech Seed alone can take on anything. Put in there Razor Leaf and Sludgebomb for a couple of awesome STAB attacks, and he makes your life much easier. Also, I abused sleep while catching pokes.

Okay, thanks but I already picked venusaur and he's level 100 now. I think I'm gonna go with charmander, adn use starmie as a tank. Thanks fo all the help!

I meant starmie is a better water poke, but he's not a tank, he's a special sweeper. But at least with charizard you took the lesser evil of the two. Just don't give him 3-4 fire moves, put earthquake on him and swords dance and he could wipe stuff.

Okay, thanks!! That's exactly what I'll do!!!
