4th Gen Starter Pokemon - male or female?

    Ok. Just got pokemon diamond and I'm trying to get a female turtwig. I've tried restarting my game from a save point a few times and I keep getting a male. My question is: can you reset the game multiple times from a save point to get a different gender, or is it set when you start a new game?
     
    Yes of course you can. Females are just harder for certain Pokemon for example the starters.

    Soft reset using (Start + Select + L + R), instead of turning on and off. It will be faster. :D

    Oh, You have already started the game and saved before the starter?

    If so, I am sure you might have to start a new game ever time. Do not save at all, until you have gotten the female. I am sure this is correct.
     
    All starters have only a 12.5% chance of being female, so if you keep at it you'll eventually get one. I believe that if you've saved you game right before you choose which starter you want, each time you reset your game the gender will be different, based on that small probability.
