Starting rom hacking

    Hi everyone, i just need some opinions for rom hacking.
    I just want to make my own game with my scripts and events on existing maps and regions (i'd like to use Fire Red as rom base).
    I can do scripting and mapping, but i'm not hacking roms for years and i don't know exactly where to start.
    Should i use an existing rom base or just clear the vanilla FR?
    Is it safe to delete all the events and then make your own events?
    I intend to just script and map a bit, nothing too special.

    Start hacking binary fire red, you can a clear cut answer at pokecommunity discord at binary rom hacking channel

    I checked the Fire Red update, it adds too much stuff i don't want, what i want is just a clean fire red rom with all the old mechanics with my story and my events, what do you suggest?

    Then what you need is mapping , scripting and your features . Check out the tool hex maniac advance and anthoyd's youtube tutorials
