I think it's time for some new ones... Well, not exactly new, but I feel they should become more "official" status effects...

"Badly Poisoned" - The extreme form of poison, caused from moved such as Toxic and Toxic spikes.
"Cursed" - Pretty self explanatory, from the move curse.
"Love" - From the move attract. (The most annoying move of all time).

Am I the only one who feels this way? Maybe you guys disagree with this! Discuss.

Badly poisoned is treated the same as poison except for the fact that you lose more HP over time? I didn't think it was much different.

I don't think the others will become "official" status effects because that would mean they would linger throughout the entire battle AND in the overworld. Love is only meant for a specific Pokemon, so in order for it to last in the OW the affected Pokemon would have to be.. in love with everything? I don't think Confusion is counted as real statuses because when Pokemon are called back they revert back to being data/energy forms in order to rest, and it would be kinda odd for Confusion to last even though the Pokemon is "resting." Not sure about Cursed, though.

If they were to introduce "badly poisoned," it'd be pretty sweet if they could make a new effect called "heavily burned." Normally, burn takes away about two to five percent of your health every turn, and halves your Attack stat. Heavily burned, though, would cause double the damage, and also slightly reduce your Defense stat along with Attack. As for cursed and love, those seem like a decent idea! You rarely see Pokémon get cursed, however, so I'm not really sure if it'd actually be worth it for them to go through all the trouble. :(

They should keep it as is. Confusion, curse, and attraction have all been working just fine without having the tiny graphic to show that they're afflicted on on the Pokemon, so I don't see the need to make them 'official'. It would be an absolute train wreck for Game Freak if they stopped Confusion from wearing off in battle. I don't know how much I'd be able to enjoy the games, getting confused is that frustrating. D:

I would love a "lightly burned" or "lightly poisoned" effect, where it gets less over time until it fades away.

Love wouldn't make sense as a "true" status ailment as it cures itself upon either the inflicted or "inflicter" being switched out or knocked out.
