"Steamboat Willies" Episode Discussion

    I've wanted to make this for months since it came out in Japan so I hope no one minds, here's where you discuss the antics of the twerps' Pokemon in Steamboat Willies!

    I'll talk more later.
     
    I thought of the episode was pretty nice episode when it were only Ash,Dawn and Brocks pokemon in the cruise having fun. But the name of this episode "Steamboat Willies" reminds me of the old Disney cartoon with Mickey Mouse called "Steamboat Willie". I think they should put a better name for this episodes it just doesn't fit right.

    xD The title reminded me of that too. My sis and I had a good laugh over it~

    Anyways, <33 I thought this episode was really awesome. It's one of the best I've seen so far really. I just liked the story of it, such a cute adventure, that's rare to see with only the Poke' gang. And even though it was a total filler, it was a nice one.

    The pokemon were cute, and I love how Buizel played the saxaphone =D
    And Pikachu's vibrations from the cello <3
    .-. erm the only part that... weirded me out was the Sudowoodo's glares at Buizel. =\ Was it supposed to play off the mimic thing? ... ^^;

    It also confirmed the genders of most of the crew. Aipom's a girl, and that was actually surprising to me. [ maybe it shouldn't have been x) ]

    x3 Ash can drive a boat.... quite well. ^_^ that was cute~
    And the boat watcher dude was a laugh. They shaped his character really well, imo.

    O-o oh, my very favorite part was the piece in the Pokemart, when Brock started hitting on all the girls because "Croagunk's not here! =D" XDD that made me laugh~

    Team Rocket's song was absolutely fun, heh, and I liked the fact that they didn't really cause any of the trouble that went on. It was a nice change to just have them there and then... send them off quickly~

    Anyways, this one was great, and I found it amusing. It's one I recommend completely~ <3

    I had to watch this episode twice because it was awesome. Finally the Pokemon get some time to play around without and Ash and the others. The Old man reminded me of Mr. Briney from Hoenn but instead of Wingull he has a Mantine! I love Johto refences, Mantine kicked butt. This had to be one of TR's most saddest and funniest attempts to catch the gang's pokemon. They forgot to lock the gate! LOL, and this version of them blasting off made me laugh so hard. Sudowoodo was trying to mimic Buizel! XD The Waterfall seen had to have been the best action scene in the episode, and Mantine broke the boulder lol. Very funny episode, I loved it.

    EDIT: Now I know Aipom's really a girl, the dress, and dawn's refrence to Aipom in the dress. Still Aipom is so cute. ^-^

    -when the Pachi was tipping the pans so cute! ^-^
    -Piplup with the magic kit
    -Pika and playing with the chello
    -The male pokes playing with instaments and the females dressing up.

    Brock seemed so happy when crogunk didn't interrupt him,with a poison jab,and his "romantic ways" with the ladies,though crogunk seemed concided the way it was looking at itself in the mirror.XD
    and as everyone said that chubby old guy reminded me of Mr.Briney,but Sinnoh version.His mantine was so cute though and strong!Finally mantine has another appearence since the Manaphy movie.
     
    It was nice seeing a Pokemon Episode about their pokemon. Pachi was cute. :3 Also their attempts to play the instruments *Staravia flies across the screen covering its ears* xD That was funny.

    Aipom is a girl? In fact she is o.0

    Brock finally gets to hang around the girls without somebody pulling his ear or stabbing him in the side.

    Yay! Next is the Cynthia vs Paul episode! ^.^

    Okies. To tell the truth. I didn't really expect much before I turned on my tv to watch the recording. I mean this was an episode right after many great episodes. You know with the small arc we had. The Museum episode. A great gym bettle episodes. When I saw that this regular filler episode was coming on this weekend I really didn't expect much from it except just a regular episode. Teeheehee boy was I wrong.

    This episode was so great!!! I mean it was so funny!!! Where do I start? Su?

    Sudowoodo, he was so mimicing Buizel! I was wondering why at first but that was soo coolies that it was.

    Happiny! Teeheehee She was so cute!!!! I mean looked at her. She was mimicing Pikachu. Then how it helped Pikachu and Piplup with Parchi. Little Happine is so strong! Then how it was dressed up at first. She is so cute!!! I hope we get to see more of Happiny again.

    The band moment. Teeheehee I was wondering how Sudowoodo would play piano. Not well. Teeheehee The others didn't do so well and seeing Staravia like that just made me rewind and see it again. Teeheehee

    Comfirmation that Aipom is a girl. Teeheehee Kinda strange how she likes to show off a lot but that is coolies. Explains a lot about how come Aipom likes Ash.

    Parchi was so CUTE!!!!! Just look at her!!! How it wanted to fly and with the balloons!!! Teeheehee

    Team Rocket came so close. So so so close. What Meowth said is so true. When was the last time they came this close?

    Oh my!!! A first!!! Brock didn't get pulled by the ear!!! Coolies!!! Teeheehee

    Did anybody notice we got a PokeMart mention in this episode? When was the last time we got one of those? I think the last time I heard the PokeMart being in the show is back during Kanto with the Squirtle Squad episode. Teeheehee Talking about fanservice as Charaxes would say. Teeheehee

    Overall I think this was a great episode!!!! So beyond my expectations!!!
     
    I had a nice laugh at Brock's flirting spree and the Team Rocket fantasy was nonsensical, yet quite funny. Giovanni would obviously not react like that.

    Yay, a reference was made to the genders of Buneary and Aipom (Aipom's gender is now totally confirmed, but Buneary hasn't had her gender confirmed in the original... yet). Well, no one can argue that Buneary isn't female, from watching the dub at least. =P
     
    Well in this ep.:

    1. Brock gets to go crazy with the girls! Freedom! (I wonder if he'll ever find that one special girl for a serious relationship)
    2. And we learn that Ash's Aipom is a girl (Though i'm a little bewildered)
     
    This was a good episode actually. My first comment is on how it was mentioned that the title reminded people of the Disney cartoon, "Steamboat Willie". I think that was intentional. Most popular franchises make some sort of pun off of something else famous whether it be a phrase or another franchise. Watching the Pokemon attempting to play the insruments was funny. Especially seeing Buizel act as the Jazz man of the group and Turtwig being the heavy metal drummer. However seeing Pachirisu flying with the balloons just proves that its a Pikachu wannabe. Remember the intro to Pokemon Yellow? What makes this episode exceptional is that we get to see each Pokemon's personality. (To some degree) It also shows that they can get themselves out of trouble. That would be if Ash and Dawn hadn't shaown up. But then again, a Pokemon can't possibly drive a steamboat. Basically, this episode was like those clips before the theater movies where Pikachu and the gang get into and out of some sort of trouble when the trainers leave them alone.

    It was a very cute episode, I loved it. I had suspected that Buneary was female when it fell in love with Pikachu, at least that what the hearts in her eyes indicated. IT wouldn't hurt my feelings any if we had a few more episodes like this.
     
    Greatest. Name. Ever. I also loved the flying Pachirisu, and the magical Piplup. Turtwig on the drums was awesome, too.
     
    I just wish they had the subtitles like they did in ep. 18.
     
    Cool episode. Team Rocket were...scary in this episode. And there were confimations of genders in this episode.

    - The BGMs used at the start were really interesting
    - Wow, first ever mention of a PokeMart? I've always pronounced it Poke-uh-mart though
    - What is the BGM at the start??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AR6-rybPdrA I was REALLY annoyed because I *think* I recognise it, but I don't know what it is!
    - Its so weird to see them in a shop
    - LOL at Brock without Croagunk! And his scream XD
    - LOL at Staravia going crazy over them playing the music
    - Pachirisu is SO cute on those balloons!
    - Cool, Ash hugs the steering wheel

    Figures.. apparently one of the best episodes in quite sometime, and I miss it. ><;
    Well, most of it. I only caught the last 10 minutes, and from what people have said,
    the best part is the begining. x-x; I might have the watch it in Japanese...

    Or I could catch the encore of it next weekend. -nods-

    Still, from what I saw it looked like a quite episode... but Team Rocket's outfits sorta creeped me out.
    They looked so weird.. xD;
     
    I watched both versions of this. Other than a few differences in BGM, and possibly some dialogue (I can't understand Japanese anyway. ^_^;), I think PUSA did a good job on this one.
     
    Anyone else notice that the ship's owner was voiced by the narrator? That was the first thing I noticed about him...

    Oh, and I didn't think I'd like this episode too much (I've never been a fan of the episodes centered on the Pokemon going on their own little adventures...), but this one wasn't bad at all. Nice to hear them finally give Aipom a gender.
