Hey guys,
I'm posting today inquiring as to if anyone could provide me with a step-by-step guide on basic tile insertion into a Fire Red base on Advance Map. Although my scripting skills have improved significantly these last few months, it won't matter if the game looks boring. At this point I have close to no experience with graphics in ROM hacking.
Essentially, what I'm trying to do is take a .PNG image file which contains various graphics that I would like to use in my ROM hack (buildings, trees, different grasses, etc.), and import certain tiles from the image into my game. I've been looking everywhere online and cannot find a straightforward guide that tells or shows me what to do in my exact situation. In this case, the tiles I'm wanting to try out are just freebies that all came together on one image sheet from DeviantArt. I plan on making my own pixel art in the future, but for now I need experience to get comfortable with the process.
Can anyone help teach me or point me in the right direction?
Thank you,
-Thugtality
