    In my opinion, it's Chikorita. Of course, if we're going by types and disadvanages and advantidages, I think......Charizard
     
    Charmander all the way! it Can own the all of the grass types water (Once evolved into charizard) can be taken care of with an earthquake or two. the ultimate blazeiken counter.
     
    even if i'm the creator of the thread i am gonna say Bulbasaur because it can learn powerfull attack such as solarbeam really early in it's journey.. in fact it's the easiest to raise
     
    I'm gonna say Chimchair, due to the fact that Inferape is an UU Pokemon.
     
    Charmander. Charizard is 'da bomb'... 8D

    I guess Mudkip is good too, I don't like it that much, but Swampert cuts out one of its main weaknesses, so y'know.

    I've not yet delved into the stats of the GenIV starters, but since they all fail aethetically, they are all disqualified. As such, I choose Blaziken for it's awesome type coverage and its array of powerful STAB moves. :P
     
    Just from playing the games Charmander and Torchic were always great. Mostly because they have great evolutions.
     
    Damn you, this isn't an easy decision.

    But I'm going with Squirtle as my vote, followed by Chimchar.

    I think both of those Pokemons final evolutions with the right moveset could take out anything coming their way.

    Empoleon is very reliable and can have pretty good moves if you train it right.

    True fire types have their weaknesses though...

    Generally, I wouldn't choose a fire type.

    Um. Charmander is a starter, so the line would still count. Just because you can't vote for evolutions of what you actually start with doesn't mean it's not a starter. He might've voted for Charmander.
