Okay. Today hasn't been a good day on Netbattle for my squad. First, I get totally creamed in a battle...I did very poorly. Ah well. Life goes on. Wrong.

My next battle is with a person who uses OHKO moves and EVERY SINGLE TIME they hit...I got so mad. This person was no good either...they had a gardevoir with shadow ball (a sin in 3rd gen).

My team seemed to be prone to critical hits and stuff, as any hax against me hurt bad. So I swapped a few pokemon and came up with this. I don't have a spinner...well, I do have wish support and half my pokemon resist spikes, so I'm not too worried. Yeah...just a quick rate. I'm open to all advice, but no replacements please. that's all I ask.

So yeah, my totally generic OU team...joy...this actually works pretty well. The only one that's worked well. Despite my typical whining, I've actually had a lot of fun on Netbattle and have had some intense battles. Team:

    Raikou @ Leftovers ** Wrathkou
    Trait: Pressure
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Calm Mind
    - Crunch
    - Hidden Power [Ice]
    - Thunderbolt

Same Raikou as before...sweeps teams. Kills Mence leads.

    Salamence (M) @ Choice Band ** Monstermence
    Trait: Intimidate
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Brick Break
    - Earthquake
    - Hidden Power [Flying]
    - Rock Slide

    Same ol CBmence.

    Swampert (M) @ Leftovers ** Swampstar
    Trait: Torrent
    EVs: 240 HP / 16 Atk / 156 Def / 96 SAtk
    Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
    - Curse
    - Earthquake
    - Ice Beam
    - Rest

Because my team lacked a physical tank after I ditched claydol. Not like claydol is really a physical tank...but...

    Jirachi @ Leftovers
    Trait: Serene Grace
    EVs: 240 HP / 56 Def / 16 Spd / 148 SAtk / 48 SDef
    Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
    - Calm Mind
    - Fire Punch
    - Psychic
    - Wish

To overcome the haxes of everyday Netbattle, I have wish support for my pokemon when rest isn't an option, like my sweepers.

    Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers ** Ironwing
    Trait: Sturdy
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
    Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
    - Drill Peck
    - Rest
    - Roar
    - Spikes

    Skarm.

    Blissey (F) @ Leftovers ** Blisspuff
    Trait: Natural Cure
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
    Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
    - Aromatherapy
    - Seismic Toss
    - Softboiled
    - Thunder Wave

Bliss. allows me to abuse rest.

Can it get more generic??? No.

Go ahead and praise/crizise/Nonononononononono my team.

Um, how come you were playing against OHKO moves? Isn't that a standard exclusion clause?

Um, how come you were playing against OHKO moves? Isn't that a standard exclusion clause?

Yup. I said no OHKO moves, but they used 'em anyways. But yeah.

Noobs. Why do people use OHKO moves? They alter the game so much. It's like one person thinking beers smells and tastes good, and the drunk people think the same thing.

Yeah, I hate it too...makes me wanna puke. So, how's the team?

Good. Did you get my PM message?

Well...yes. Waz that gotta do with this? lol...just glad to be back. I've noticed that gengar and zapdos seem to give me trouble...after a week off of PC since it was down, I was on Netbattle and listening to Queen vids on Youtube, so my mind is a little dusty at the moment. lol

    Raikou @ Leftovers ** Wrathkou
    Trait: Pressure
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Calm Mind
    - Substitute
    - Hidden Power [Ice]
    - Thunderbolt

Same Raikou as before...sweeps teams. Kills Mence leads.
Are you sure? Crunch is a physical move, there are better options since he should be using his special attacks productively. Raikou will be easily statused and dead before long unless you give him Substitute or even Rest (tho Suicune does a much better job at resting). Even tho Blissey can Aromatherapy the resting Raikou, I still would suggest against it, since your point is to keep calm minding and not switching out the angry dog.

    Salamence (M) @ Choice Band ** Monstermence
    Trait: Intimidate
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Brick Break
    - Earthquake
    - Flamethrower / Fire Blast
    - Rock Slide

    Same ol CBmence.
Again the hidden power flying doesn't do it justice, especially on a choice band set... (HP is special). Maybe Flamethrower will not make him flee everytime Skarmory steps in.

    Swampert (M) @ Leftovers ** Swampstar
    Trait: Torrent
    EVs: 240 HP / 16 Atk / 156 Def / 96 SAtk
    Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
    - Curse
    - Earthquake
    - Ice Beam
    - Rest

Because my team lacked a physical tank after I ditched claydol. Not like claydol is really a physical tank...but...
It can definitely catch an unprepared team (with no grass move) and potentially sweep. Yet, I think Surf should be included for STAB, and can potentially confuse your opponent thinking you only have Surf or Ice Beam (while you actually have both, and they might feel free to bring in their dragons)..

    Jirachi @ Leftovers
    Trait: Serene Grace
    EVs: 240 HP / 56 Def / 16 Spd / 148 SAtk / 48 SDef
    Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
    - Calm Mind
    - Thunder / Thunderbolt
    - Psychic
    - Wish

To overcome the haxes of everyday Netbattle, I have wish support for my pokemon when rest isn't an option, like my sweepers.
Fire Punch.. again a physical attack on a pokemon which is used for its special attack abilities (according to the given EV's and the including of Calm Mind). Take it off for Grass Knot or maybe even Thunder (yes, Thunder) for the sexy 60% paralysis chance. You also might wanna consider Reflect instead of Wish, to support the rest of the team and weaken those pesky Earthquakes coming his way.

    Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers ** Ironwing
    Trait: Sturdy
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
    Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
    - Drill Peck
    - Roost
    - Roar
    - Spikes

    Skarm.
Roost is actually screaming "USE ME!" instead of Rest, since Toxic won't affect it anyway, and burn damage won't build up on you. Also wishing the bird good night will only invite stat ups, Flamethrowers, Thunderbolts, and maybe even a Close Combat Heracross that will not fear Drill Peck and 2HKO.

    Blissey (F) @ Leftovers ** Blisspuff
    Trait: Natural Cure
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
    Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
    - Aromatherapy
    - Seismic Toss
    - Softboiled
    - Thunder Wave

Bliss. allows me to abuse rest.
I always wanted a rest abusing Blissey, sounds really evil. However, your team doesn't use Rest that well.

Suggestions in bold, moves in red.

Your suggestions aren't really necessary... since Anti is a 3rd Gen player and your suggestions are for 4th Gen

Please think a little before posting. The only thing that isn't available here for the 3rd gen is Roost. And also, how the hell am I supposed to know it's for the 3rd gen? Doesn't state that anywhere.

Syaoran, please make sure you're rating the right generation when you rate a team. Anti-pop Culture Warrior stated this was for Netbattle and Netbattle = 3rd gen. And not keeping Hidden Power [FLYING] on Salamence in 3rd gen is a sin so your comments are useless. =\

not as many as some of his other threads, but yeah Netbattle is 3rd Gen only

and I was merely pointing out that you said that Crunch is Physical where in 3rd Gen it's considering Special... I never said they couldnt have those moves, just your advice is faulty

Never played netbattle, never going to. It should be clear in the post what gen is used.

Again I'll mention, all the moves except Roost are suitible for the 3rd gen as well. As for Salamence, this team lacks a fire move, and Flamethrower is really good on him. Just saying it's a "sin" not using HP flying is not enough, provide a reason for that.

Edit: Oh I get you now. my bad.

    *Sigh*

Mence needs HP flying...tell me, what else is it gonna have? It gains STAB and is his most powerful move, and really hurts a lot of pokemon. It IS a sin to not have HP flying...it's like giving Dragonite shock wave instead of Earthquake. Really, it's pretty obvious.

So yeah. Really, next time I'd read the entire post more carefully, to avoid these situations. Thanks. All I'm really looking for is a competant rate...3rd gen style. But meh, no one plays ADV anymore, can't blame that on you guys:)

    I'm not a 3rd gen player :\

Earthquake/Rock Slide/Dragon Claw has the most incredible coverage known (Excluding Night Slash with 'em)

HP Flying is primarily for... Heracross?

Meh. Mixedmence in 3rd gen...I think it's DD, two physical moves, and fire blast. Too bad dragon claw isn't physical in 3rd gen...night slash isn't a 3rd gen move either. It's a shame, but I didn't like most of the new additions to D/P anyways. The only one I liked was the special/physical thing...but anyways, HP flying is Mence's most powerful attack. Anything that can't take a hit fears it. Let's put it this way: If mence was used in UU, HP flying (CBed) would sweep out 90% of the pokemon easily. STAB=win. It's also the best move to use when you see a switch coming (who leaves in blissey vs. mence?) as pokemon that resist a variety of its attacks, like gengar, are all-of-a-sudden in red HP zone. HP flying is the staple of CBmence IMO...it's the move I always find myself using.
