There are 2 stupid things in Diamond and Pearl.

    1. The Fact that the Professor sends you to get data on all the pokemon, but after you catch Dialga, he doesn't seem interested in a "Legendary Pokemon"
    2. How on AT LEAST 2 occasions, trainers in D/P are now using the word "Noob"
Anyone else have stupid things they've spotted?

    Funny :P
    very funny.
but again interesting, i never noticed :P

Somebody on the west entrance to Oreburgh City says "owned" as well, I believe.

I guess it's NOA trying to latch onto the internet generation, and using familiar words.

Is that when the kid says something like "Everyone will think you're a total noob, right? You don't wanna get owned" or something. xD

Am I the only person here who thougt the noob thing was funny? It was ironic coming from a Galactic Grunt. (The easiest of the criminal organizations, altough they had the best theme song)

That noob thing is actually not Nintendo's doing. Some guys over at Something Awful forums were working on the translations for English and added said things (and other things) as a joke to make the other Something Awful users laugh.

I loved reading the Internet lingo in the games - I thought it had some sort of ridiculous adorable charm to it. Honestly, I'm starting to think that people are trying to think up new things to complain about concerning the 4th generation.

    EDIT:
Ah, yes, that reminds me, does the game script differ from Japanese to English? I haven't seen any sort of comparisons so far, and I'm kind of curious to see if any lines were completely re-written.

Yeah. There's a thread around here somewhere in which they're complaining about their bag having too many items. What, would you rather have to throw things away?

Some where indeed rewritten and say nothing even close to the original text. To quote bulbapedia:

"Pokémon Diamond and Pearl contain many references to Internet memes and chatspeak. One of the main translators, Douglas Dinsdale, is a member of the Something Awful Forums, hence all the net lingo. There are also multiple references to the Something Awful website and community scattered throughout the game, such as one Pokémon trainer announcing "My Pokemon is Fight!". "Noob" is also used several times, "Owned" is said by a Galactic grunt and Buck, and ROFL is available as a speech option. Perhaps incidentally, Twinleaf Town shares its Japanese name with that of the original *chan imageboard, 2chan."

Er, and the person who did that didn't get in any trouble? o_o...

Well its not know by too many people and even if it was he didn't actually do anything wrong per say. He just took some creative liberties.

    that's very interesting actually.
do you think they could be adapting to the current speak and keeping up with all the new lingo that people are coming up with?
    definately a possibility.
    anyone else agree?

when you first come out of the cave to oreborough, teh guy is like "let me show you around so you don't look like a total noob'...how funny is that?!

I noticed the noob thing, but not that he said "owned". I'm pretty glad I didn't noticed he said owned. >.< I dislike it when I see someone using owned in a sentence.

I loved the infinite bag. Scrolling is easy, and it irks me that people complain about the most trivial things.

I do love the internet latch-ons, they were pretty cute, and I gave an lol every time I saw them.

I haven't a clue why using words such as noob and owned would imply stupidity. =P My belief is that the words in of themselves aren't bad, but idiotic usage of them. It's a pet-peeve of mine that they got into the game, but I don't think they'd qualify as stupidity.

tbh if u notice stupid stuff like that u shouldnt even be playing D/P

Some trainer in the Canalave Gym calls you a noob.
