... world of the pokémon games, or the world of the pokémon anime! They are both very popular, but also rather different. In the games, there are only so many cities, but in the anime they sometimes come to villages and places and see events that the games don't even touch on.

In the games, there are levels and item balls and Hidden Machines and four strong trainers you have to beat to become the Champion of a region. In the anime, there are many gym leaders in a region but for 8 badges you can enter a glamorous Pokémon League Tournament where you can become a pokémon master!

Many differences, of course also many similarities. But the question is, if you were to suddenly have to choose between entering the pokémon anime world, or the pokémon games world FOREVER, what would you choose?
You can explain what aspects of the two universes that convinced you of your choice.

NOTE: this is not quite the same as this thread, that asked what your favorite to watch/play is while this is asking where you'd rather be forced to live :]

    Does it matter??

Well, actually it does. I'd choose to be in the animé world, as then I'd have so much more freedom & movement as to where I can go, as well as what I might find. Also, it helps when the fights are much more dynamic.

But anything's better than the life that I'm living now...

I'm pretty sure I'd chose the anime world. What we see in the games feels incomplete; if you were to imagine what it'd be like living there, there would be many holes to fill, and well, the anime does pretty much that. The regions are bigger, with more cities and towns and landmarks, and there's a whole dynamic with people doing their own thing, like having jobs and just living their lives. Plus, battles are more realistic, and the League system also makes more sense.

I would choose the anime. It's somewhat similar to the life we live now, but just overall better. More possibilities, places to explore, and it seems you can build a better relationship with your Pokemon. Plus, it seems more realistic, in a sense. As an example, in the games legendary Pokemon like Mewtwo just run around waiting to be captured, when in the anime they are doing their own thing and can actually unleash their true powers and nobody controls them.

I guess the anime world for the ability of more freedom. You basically have control of your life. In the games you had set things that you had to do.

If Ash exists in the anime world, then the game because I'm pretty sure I'd end up killing that brat if I ever ended up in the same place as him.

If not, anime world, its physics are much more fun and malleable to explore than the game world's (assuming we're still facing the same limitations as when we played before)

Anime. No doubt. d: The anime's just like the real world, where anything can happen. The games, though, they are more... I don't know how to explain it. Robotic, I guess? Like, if you've faced a gym leader and lost, you'd instantly be transported to Pokémon Center. When you go back to re-challenge, they'd act like nothing's ever happened and treat you as a complete stranger. In anime, I'm sure this would never happen--things would be more realistic. Another example would be is that when you're done defeating the champion in-game and become the new champ, you don't exactly get treated as such. If you're in anime, though, you definitely would.

Well I don't think I meant that you'd be bound by all the game mechanics just for being in the game world xD I pointed out the differences I thought mattered in the first post. So if both the anime world and game world could be rendered somewhat realistically (i.e. you wouldn't just be transported to a pokémon center), would all of you still choose the anime one?

Ignoring mechanics and restrictions that the games bring about, I know that I'd still personally choose the anime world, as there's plenty of islands, towns, etc. there that aren't featured in the games, that give you so many more options to explore. Even looking at the difference between the Seafoam Islands in the game (just a couple of caves and later a gym in a cold climate) vs. the anime version (a warm resort town with direct access to Fuchsia City) shows the big difference between the two worlds, and I just happen to like what the anime has to offer a little bit more.
