Suggestion - Sig Limits

    Hi, I see that people have multiple sig/pictures/animations which cog up the page and means we have to scroll down more, may i suggest putting a limit on sigs

    Well, in the PC Rules thread, we do kind of have a limit set on pictures. They cannot measure over 500 (w) 300 (h) in pixel size. If you have multiple images then all together they cannot exceed 150000 pixels. So that does somewhat resrict the numbers of pics you can have in your siggie.

    If you mean just restate the rules and only allow like two or three images or something like that, then we'll just have to wait and see what everyone else thinks. ^o^

    And in addition to that, they will probably implement a signature limited which is being tested in the layout Brains and Brawns... The thread is in the announcements forum, if that might interest you...

    It's sad that we need to forcefully limit signatures anyway. Where does common sense come into play?
     
    I see many people with HUGE sigs that go untouched, even when mods post in the same topic as them, though I'm betting they just didn't see them. Many are so big they crash FireFox, and I'm serious about that.

    Yeah, I'd have to say that we should limit the amount of pics. I'd say a max of one 1 banner, 1 trainer card, and 2 small items, such as sprites. I think that would be a balance between extremes.

    Text really doesn't hurt 56Kers as much as pics, so I think that maybe a couple of extra lines of text wouldn't hurt to balance the loss of pics.

    Indeed.

    But sadly, some people just don't understand the purpose of a signature (like me? XD) and are not sensible enough to put a limit on themselves... that's just life I guess... =/
