Think of it this way - a small child may do selfish things, but being so young they do not realise (or rather understand) that they are being selfish. Does this make the act not selfish anymore? Of course not. The same goes for suicide. I'm sure in many cases the deceased person isn't committing suicide to make other people hurt, and honestly do not realise they are acting selfishly, but the act is selfish nonetheless.
Just to add to that, in case anyone's interested, females have more attempted suicides than males, so in general when a male wants to kill themselves they are more likely to get the job done.
