Sun Force - GO!

How about Torkoal, Breloom, Rapidash, Arcanine, Blaziken, Camerupt, Roserade, Vileplume, or Exeggutor?

Now, everyone on this forum can see this coming a mile away. Here is the standard Sunnybeamer set:

Vileplume@Heat Rock
Nature:Calm/Modest
Solarbeam
Sunny Day
Sleep Power
HP [Fire, Ice]

I only say Ice for verstilaty.

Arcanine@ Choice Scarf
Nature: Naughty
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SPD / 188 ATK / 68 HP

Flare Blitz
Thunder Fang
Extremespeed
Dragon Pulse

I was waiting for you Sims. I love Vileplume but the chance of using Fire-Type Weather Ball is too tempting.

By the way, what EVs should I use for Dragonite.

Roserade is solid. I have that as a tag on my team. But someone once told me it is difficult to use Sunnybeaming Roserade. But, due to my carelessness, I evoled it too fast, so I'm stuck on Sunnybeamer.

i like arcanine, i do, but it does a bad job of countering other fire types. the only solid moves it has for choice scarf is dragon pulse and crunch, both of which are not that strong. but besides that, choice scarf is pretty bad on it because of the strong prominence of stealth rock and the fact that your rapid spinner is a fire type as well.

i dunno. how do you feel about rapidash with hypnosis? XD it does have baton pass, so it's a considerable support poke.

EDIT: then again, this team would have serious issues with heatran. no fire types could handle heatran besides a choice scarf charizard =/

Wouldn't Dragonite's Earthquake be sufficient to take care of Heatran if it came down to it? I mean most Heatrans have Dragon Pulse but I think Dragonite could stand strong.

I was considering Rapidash, but I wasn't sure. Would this be sufficient:

Rapidash@Wide Lens
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs:

Flare Blitz
Megahorn
Agility
Hypnosis

EDIT: I just checked and Rapidash doesn't learn Baton Pass.

EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 6 HP

Also, Rapidash learns Baton Pass only from the XD Move Tutor. If you can't obtain it, then that set you already mentioned works fine.

I hated the first Colosseum. So I didn't buy the sequel. So, my set is fine? Thanks for the EV Spread Shirosaki. ^.^

Well, would you still need Agility if you couldn't Baton Pass it to another teammate? Will-O-Wisp is an option, and with Hypnosis included, double status works great.

Yeah, I was wondering about that. Especially with the Sleep Cause. So, here's my team:

Slowking@Lum Berry
Nature: Calm
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 200 HP / 188 DEF / 96 SPDEF / 24 SPATK

- Surf
- Fire Blast
- Slack Off
- Calm Mind

Hitmonchan@Choice Band
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 ATK / 144 HP / 112 SPD

- Close Combat
- Ice Punch
- Thunderpunch
- Mach Punch

Roserade@Life Orb
Nature: Timid
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SPD / 252 SPATK / 4 HP

- Solarbeam
- Weather Ball
- Shadow Ball
- Sunny Day

Torkoal@Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed
Ability: White Smoke
EVs: 252 HP / 252 DEF / 4 SPATK

- Flamethrower
- Substitute
- Rapid Spin
- Will-o-Wisp

Dragonite@Yache Berry
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: [ ??? ]

- Dragon Claw
- Fire Punch
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance

Rapidash@Wide Lens
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SPD / 252 ATK / 4 HP

- Flare Blitz
- Megahorn
- Agility
- Hypnosis

Alright, here's the next rough draft of my team. Wherever there is a [ ??? ], I still need help.

yeah double status is good on rapidash, but you may have something there. increasing speed to put faster pokemon to sleep is genius. it'll actually allow you to counter incoming heatran with choice scarf. if not agility or will-o-wisp, then sub is an option to ward in opponents and put to sleep without taking damage.

give slowking leftovers or lum berry. lum berry is preferred so that it can't be put to sleep automatically and has a fighting chance to OHKO the fool.

roserade could probably use life orb. if not that, heat rock is ok if you want sunny day to be out for 8 turns.

well, i'd go 164 HP/some speed/some attack. most sets have around 108-132 HP evs, but i like to give him more.

All I need is an EV spread for Dragonite and I'm good.

Fire Blast over Fire Punch to hurt Skarmory harder. Dragonite most likely needs the extra speed, so Jolly instead of Adamant. One thing Dragonite can do better than Salamence and Garchomp is the use of Outrage and Dragon Dance together, why not take the advantage of it?

EVs: 52 HP / 252 Atk / 206 Spd

I updated the first post. I think I'm set. Looks solid.

EDIT: Is it possible to have another Rapid Spinner. I love Torkoal but I was wondering if there was one who might fit in better. Possibly Claydol?

Yes, it's definitely a better rapid spinner than Torkoal. It has good defences, useful resistances and immunities.

Alright, what would be a better move set for Claydol?

Claydol @ Leftovers
Bold Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 138 Def / 120 Sp.Atk
- Rapid Spin
- Stone Edge / Ice Beam
- Earthquake / Earth Power
- Reflect / Stealth Rock / Toxic

You can choose to use Earthquake over Earth Power if you're going on a physical-based Claydol, plus it hurts Tyranitar more, as Earth Power is weakened by the Sandstorm boost, and I doubt you'd want Tyranitar using Crunch / Pursuit against it. Ice Beam covers other Ground types, along with Dragons as well. Last slot is for supporting options.

Claydol @ Leftovers
Bold Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 138 Def / 80 Sp Def/40 Sp Atk
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Reflect

This is a bit of the classic set for Claydol.

There's this set too which can work.

Claydol @ Light Clay
Relaxed Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 124 Def / 120 Def
-Explosion
-Ice Beam
-Light Screen
-Reflect

Something I made up. >_>

Well, Donphan has gained 3 weaknesses and no resistances since it never resisted anything on the special side. Clearing its weaknesses out of the way, it makes a great physical wall and causes heavy damage in the process. Claydol is actually more suited as a special wall but only happened to wall on the physical side as well due to its typing and trait. Its defence isn't really all that high and its HP is average. Best thing about it is its immunities and resistances. They're both useful rapid spinners to use, so it really depends what you require most.
