I agree though. As for your idea about Palkia or Dialga being playable, Palkia could have been. Dialga would have been harder, but Palkia has wings, making his Up + B, as well as jumps, easier to imagine.

Yeah, if Dialga was playable, we would all be pwned by Roar Of Time, probably every 5 seconds,
by the person using Dialga, making it no fun for anyone but the uber n00b

Well, true, but so would Palkia + Spacial Rend. Roar of Time could have slowed people down, and damaged them gradually, whilst Spacial Rend could have been 1HKO!
