((-headdesk- Okay, he's finally done, hope this is okay. XD I was planning on playing a female character, but yeah, more have appeared since I posted earlier today. :3 If he's too extreme... Please let me know, and I'll tone him down. ^_^ Also, I hope that it's okay that he's not exactly a trainer, but still has Pokemon. ^_^ So yeah. Any problems, tell me. XD))
Name: Astor "Kaze" Zephaire
Gender: Male
Age: Twenty years, eight months and twenty-three days old, as of the time of the catastrophe. The male is extremely precise when it comes to announcing his age, for reasons unbeknownst to the rest of the world.
Personality: To remark that Kaze is a character is perhaps quite an understatement; his eccentric erraticism renders him as predictable as a tropical storm, and leaves as much chaos in his wake. Armed with a tongue capable of dishing out sarcastic quips, insulting jokes and charming remarks all in one sentence (and the capacity to be able to talk for ages without pausing for breath), it is rare to see him silent whilst in social situations (indeed, the only time he is relatively sedate is when it is raining). This makes him extremely irritating and overbearing to many, as he is prone to putting his foot where he shouldn't, offending others, and generally invoking hostility which results in the male having to avoid being punched in the face.
His flamboyancy and tendencies to speak his (unstable) mind are merely how he was raised, encouraged to have little inhibitions and to be true to himself. Therefore, Kaze despises fakes, people who put on a facade and stab their so-called 'friends' in the backs. Despite seeming brash and insensitive, however, Kaze is in tune with his own emotions and gets hurt just as any other person would. He feels that love is a sacred thing that can warm any heart, and often makes spontaneous gestures to people of either gender when he believes that they need a pick-me-up (often, he will conjure flowers, compose a not-so complimentary but honest poem, or serenade them with his tone deaf tenor's warble). Otherwise, he enjoys interrupting others' conversations, their business- pretty much their lives in order to gain attention. He is not a deliberate or vindictive attention seeker- his outgoing nature essentially is a result of being nurtured by a performing family. Also, the more rejection he faces, the more he strives to be accepted, and therefore subconsciously intensifies his personality to try and convince people to like the real him.
Anger and sadness do not plague this particular man, as he possesses a positive outlook on life and adamantly resists being overcome by the insecurities and fears that he will end up alone in life- travelling around the world is not an ideal lifestyle in which one can form solid and true friendships. He is prone to becoming malicious and spiteful when irked to a certain extent, but this is a rare occurrence, as his mind is too flighty to linger on one subject for more than a few moments. Kaze's greatest sins are gluttony and envy, though one would have a hard time believing that upon seeing him with his perpetual, goofy smile.
Appearance: Kaze is a true ectomorph, his body composition having a low fat and muscle ratio in addition to his petite, compact bone structure that renders him very short in stature in comparison to other males his age- or indeed, many males over the age of fourteen. Therefore, he is classified in cruder terms as a 'scrawny midget' or 'runt', though the latter is actually an endearing nickname that was assigned to him by his family as he and his siblings were growing up. He stands at a modest five feet, five inches, having inherited his mother's height rather than the long-limbed, lanky stature of his father. Give or take the odd fluctuation, the male weighs approximately one hundred and twenty-four pounds.
His complexion is neither tanned nor pallid, and no freckles or moles dapple his skin. However, his torso and abdomen are marred by a scar which stretches almost vertically from his lower clavicle to the top of his left hip-bone- Kaze possesses no insecurities as far as the disfigurement goes, and will happily wander around shirtless, as if he is proud of the mark. Yet he will never answer queries as to how the injury was sustained; Kaze will always chuckle loudly (and obviously forcedly) and blather on about something completely unrelated.
Perhaps the most striking feature concerning the male (other than being vertically challenged) is the crop of bright red hair which sprouts from his scalp. Most of the time, it conforms to the untamed layered style that Kaze prefers to sport, though when wet, it loses its volume and becomes flat. The strands within the longest layers tickle his shoulder blades, those in the shortest flick upwards- almost against gravity. He is prone to adding an accessory to the mop upon his head- often a hair clip or band that has been swiped from the dressing rooms of his sisters. The more it glitters, the more likely it is to be included in his ensemble.
Kaze's irises are a dull blue in colour, but his eyes are perpetually filled with energy, enthusiam and mischief. Long, doll-like lashes encompass his eyes, framed by thin, red eyebrows which only enhance his effeminate visage- Kaze can more or less conform to the requirements for the 'androgynous' category, thanks to his delicate features in juxtaposition with the masculinity of his frame (a lack of curves, and relatively broad shoulders). Often, he is mistaken for a girl- this is enhanced by his heart-shaped face, soft cheekbones, a small nose, and Cupid's Bow-shaped lips.
The male is unafraid to wear garments which suit his appearance- this includes the clothing that is typically reserved for the opposite gender (particularly during the summer months). People often raise their eyebrows when they spy him parading about in a skirt or a dress, but as Kaze protests, he is equipped with a pair of legs that could carry off such a look. Generally however, he will don elaborate, flamboyant cloaks that you would expect a magician from a fictional novel or television series to wear, along with ruffled shirts and tailored suits. But when feeling particularly uninhibited (which is ninety percent of the time), Kaze will exchange certain garments for others beneath his capes. Shirt for a mere bandana fastened about his neck, for example. Smart trousers for Hawaiian shorts. Boots for flip flops. In short, his clothing choice reflects his personality; gregarious, over the top, and erratic. Finally, Kaze (unsurprisingly) is a fan of make-up- whether this be due to his family's career or a true personal preference, it still pertains to the fact that eyeliner, glittery mascara and nail polish are two things he will often use to enhance his appearance.
Bio: Astor "Kaze" Zephaire is the second-oldest child of Nikolai and Circe Zephaire, a duo who were both part of a travelling circus prior to their marriage and the birth of their children. Upon Kaze's elder sister coming into the world, the pair decided to branch off from the circus and create their own troupe, and all Zephaire children that followed were encouraged into the spotlight- each exhibiting their own special talent. Whilst not particularly famous internationally, the troupe are well-acclaimed, and do have a small legion of fans. Kaze is an acrobat who possesses the knowledge of simple magic skills, though specialises mostly in tumbling and the high wire, as he has a great deal of balance, co-ordination and flexibility (whilst performing; the skills seem to desert him upon leaving the 'stage'). His nickname (and preferred name) comes from a Japanese word for 'wind', pertaining to the nature of his act.
Though born in the Hoenn region, Kaze lived on the road. His family were constantly on the move, sharing their arts in a bid to raise enough money to survive on and sustain their show. Despite this, Kaze had a decent childhood- there was always someone around for him to interact with, and his parents loved each of their brood equally and unconditionally.
There were the occasional mishaps, which were guaranteed when the nature of his act was taking into consideration; once or twice he dislocated a shoulder, and Kaze spent five months incapacitated after fracturing an ankle at the age of thirteen years, eleven months and two days. However, his eventual return to the spotlight was successful, and the physiotherapy he had been subjected to was worth the expense.
Kaze never held much of an interest in Pokemon as a child, and did not obtain one of the creatures until his fifteenth birthday. His first partner was a rather sinister-looking Sneasel with a lazy eye, who he promptly nicknamed 'Stan'. Stan joined Kaze in his act, developing a bond with the human to the extent that he didn't mind wearing boots, leotards and a cape that matched those of his companion, and a pirate's eyepatch during the period of time Kaze spent trying to remedy the Sneasel's sight.
However, all happiness must be terminated abruptly at some point or other- Kaze's life was twisted upside down when he was framed for arson by a member of Team Magma after the troupe stayed in Lilycove City. It was simply a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but Kaze's attitude and weak alibi rendered him as the prime suspect. Wanting to evade prison and shaming his family, who he treasured above everything else, Kaze stole a local Wailmer and fled the city. Since that night, eighteen months have passed, and he has managed to relocate to the Sinnoh region without revealing himself. However, strange phone calls to the house he, Stan and Wailmer have been residing in have caused him a great deal of unsettlement, and he has traversed to Canalave City in order to escape once again.
Pokémon:
Stan the Sneasel
Cal-Cal the Wailmer
Pokémon Info:
Stan (Sneasel): Stan can't help but look especially odd, especially with eyes that are closer together and more slanted than is normal for a Sneasel. They seem to glare into your very soul if you stare into them, and those who have shared a room with Kaze have often awoken during the night and discovered the Pokemon staring at them with a grin of bloodlust. Despite his appearance however, he is partial to classical music and watching Western films on the ancient television in Kaze's 'house'. He has a quirky nature at the very least, mirroring the eccentricity of the companion with whom he has spent five years.
Cal-Cal (Wailmer): Cal-Cal is the stolen Wailmer who carried Kaze away from his injust, guilty sentence. Perhaps the brains of the trio with a serious nature, Wailmer allowed Kaze to officially capture him after hearing the man relay the series of events on their journey away from Lilycove. He resents the fact that Kaze insists on using him as part of his act (which he still practices religiously), often ending up as the crash mat or trampoline. Nevertheless, Cal-Cal has grown to love Kaze, despite the terrible nickname he has been given.
